Pipeline Cyber Attack

Ransomware attack: What we know about the pipeline cyberattack: How it happened, who is responsible and more - CNNPolitics

This is crazy. Stopped for gas after work and they were completely out. Made a trip to the next gas station and it was 3 cars deep at every pump. I expect gas prices will sky rocket as a result.
We filled all our vehicles up today. It’s gonna be a tough couple of weeks.

And I hope the intern that was surfing pornhub and infected them gets drawn and quartered

Whereabouts are you? Not sure how widespread the shortages will be, could be more or less localized to the eastern parts of the country from what I heard but it could have wider repercussions as well. Those baskerds never miss a chance to raise the price though, that I can tell you.

If the price hits our target bet because of an attack and not because of Biden, I think the bet should not be paid but should continue until Biden is no longer prez.

It seems like we have several business owners on here. If you aren’t buying Cyber insurance then you really need to consider it. Most people think if you aren’t holding health info or swiping credit cards then you don’t need it and that is not true at all. In fact, almost all of the large claims lately are 1st party claims like this pipeline attack. Also, if you do buy Cyber insurance or are considering it then you MUST have multi factor authentication. Not having that probably won’t prevent you from getting insurance but it will make it a lot harder, drastically increase the cost, and reduce the limits you’re able to buy. Get out in front of the issue. Talk to your broker.

Somewhat, yes. I’m in the defense industry.
Ah ok. From going there a few times it seems everybody either works at the Arsenal, works for a satellite company that services the Arsenal, or works in service industry feeding and caring for people working at and doing business with the Arsenal. I realize there is a lot more there it’s quite a technology corridor.

It’s a little early again, to try to wriggle out of it, McDad. But I will grant you clemency in case of an act of God or a terrorist including a cyber attack.

Lol, yeah we are all contractors or govvies of some sort. I heard Huntsville has more graduate degrees per capita then anywhere else in the country. Don’t know if it is still true. The Huntsville area has absolutely exploded in size the last several years. Lots of education and technology opportunity around here.

Of course head an hour south and you get true Alabama with the cousin love and bare feet and toothless rednecks screaming roll tide everywhere.

Are you besmirching the good, God fearing folks in Arab, Al?

I am still awaiting compensation from the Equifax (or was it Experian) breach years ago. Nothing like a credit agency offering me free credit monitoring for their breach and after several hundreds in my own account monitoring and payment. Years of litigation. Cannot make this crap up.

Yikes. That sucks. About any decent Cyber insurance you buy will include that in it. Granted, you’d then be dealing with an insurance company and having to get money from them but it wouldn’t be like what you’re experiencing. Just like anything, you have to get an idea in the cost and then weigh the costs vs the benefits.

I get what u are sayin and they are different. Just the fact that we have to protect our digital security amd pay for it with a company that monitors our credit...Well loss of words. "Sorry sir, our records indicate you credit is not good"...due to the fact that someone hacked my info on your website azzhole.
I have not been impacted in any way, but have to keep the eye out.
