Pig Howard dismissed from team...

Evan Berry needs to move to offense. He's great with the ball

Omg, I just gave you a like...What is this world coming to? :) I agree 100% with your sentiment but I have a feeling that it would just be one more talented playmaker running around without the ball.

Loved him as a player. I hope he gets his stuff together.

For a small percentage of people who use it, marijuana can be highly addictive. It is estimated that 10% to 14% of users will become heavily dependent. In 2006 marijuana was responsible for 16% of all admissions to treatment facilities in the U.S. Because the consequences of marijuana use can be subtle and insidious, it is more difficult to recognize signs of addiction. Cultural and societal beliefs that marijuana cannot be addictive make it less likely for people to seek help or to get support for quitting. Over time, overstimulation of the endocannabinoid system by marijuana use can cause changes in the brain that lead to addiction, a condition in which a person cannot stop using a drug even though it interferes with many aspects of his or her life. It is estimated that 9 percent of people who use marijuana will become dependent on it. The number goes up to about 17 percent in those who start using young (in their teens) and to 25 to 50 percent among daily users. According to the 2013 NSDUH, marijuana accounted for 4.2 million of the estimated 6.9 million Americans dependent on or abusing illicit drugs.

I concur. Very well stated!

For those that don't believe Marijuna is a dangerous addictive drug, then why did pig keep violating team rules? He knew he had to stop, but he couldn't and now he's lost the rest of his Senior season.

That would be called stupidity - i smoked every day for 5 years never had an issue when i had to quit to get a job.

ITT a bunch of people who have never smoked weed but believe everything the media and government tells them lololololol

In the early 1990s, the average THC content in confiscated cannabis samples was roughly 3.7 percent for marijuana and 7.5 percent for sinsemilla (a higher potency marijuana from specially tended female plants). In 2013, it was 9.6 percent for marijuana and 16 percent for sinsemilla. The latter findings may help explain the results of a large longitudinal study conducted in New Zealand, which found that frequent and persistent marijuana use starting in adolescence was associated with a loss of an average of 8 IQ points measured in mid-adulthood. Significantly, in that study, those who used marijuana heavily as teenagers and quit using as adults did not recover the lost IQ points. Users who only began using marijuana heavily in adulthood did not lose IQ points. These results suggest that marijuana has its strongest long-term impact on young users whose brains are still busy building new connections and maturing in other ways.

Most likely he was pampered, lazy and obviously to stubborn to put it down. Im sure he is addicted to the lifestyle not the plant

People get addicted to marijuana. You did it and did not get addicted good for you. I have drank alcohol off and on my whole life without problems. But I know that just because I didnt have a problem doesn't mean others do not.

Exactly, that's why it's called an addictive personality. No two people are the same. The concern isn't the ones who were able to stop. The concern should be on those who are having real issues with whatever drug it is. And who's to say that smoking for 5 years straight didn't have an affect? He doesn't know.

Some people will convince themselves of just about anything to justify their criminal behavior.

Righttttt, he's gone just like others that chose the same path, and there have been many. Time to move on and the next man step up.

If it was drugs (seems most likely) then screw him and any other dumbass who has so little discipline that they cannot control themselves when faced with the loss of so much.

Possession of Marijuna is a violation of TENNESSEE law and Federal law.

List of Schedule 1 Drugs

Drugs / Substances listed in DEA Schedule I include:

Heroin (diacetylmorphine)
LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide)
Marijuana (cannabis, THC)
Mescaline (Peyote)
MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine or “ecstasy”)
GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyric acid)
Ecstasy (MDMA or 3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine)
Psilocybin
Methaqualone (Quaalude)
Khat (Cathinone)
Bath Salts (3,4-methylenedioxypyrovalerone or MDPV)

Lol marijuana is a sch vI drug

Not a surprise, Pearson may not be far behind. Unfortunately, there are a lot of selfish players on this team. They overshadow the hardworking team players like Dobbs, Hurd, Sutton, and Maybin. We need about 20 more of them.

I know that's what i thought?? Also i didn't think there were any official written laws on Psilocybin (shrooms) virtually anywhere except for the state of Georgia because they grow wild in one specific area of northern Georgia. Also i thought it was the same with Mescaline as well in Tennessee that possession of either one would just be a charge of being in possession of a controlled substance. Not possession of a schedule I drug?! But i am no criminal defense attorney. Lol

I have come to know Pig over the last year. He's a very nice guy but he had a habit of using whatever he could to try to forget... Something. I don't know what it is, the guy is very quiet, but he seems rather depressed and like he is self medicating with drugs. The Sunday after the South Carolina game, I watched SNF with him and he declined to take any credit for the game. Truth of the matter is, he's a kid in need, and wasn't in the right mental state to play football. I hope the best for him in his future but this is probably for the best as his head always seemed to be somewhere else. Good luck to the guy, I'm rooting for you Pig.

Good post. Wish the kid the best, and I hope he finds what he needs so he can get the life (and peace) he deserves.

Not according to federal law. It's schedule I and that's what I was citing in a previous post.

Here's what DEA has to say about marijuana on their website.

DEA / Drug Scheduling

Schedule I drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. Schedule I drugs are the most dangerous drugs of all the drug schedules with potentially severe psychological or physical dependence. Some examples of Schedule I drugs are:

heroin, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), marijuana (cannabis), 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (ecstasy), methaqualone, and peyote
