Phillips and Tuttle say “all weren’t bought in”

Not hard to believe. We've had confirmation that Brandon Johnson didn't want to go to a crap bowl and just wants to go home
If this is proven to be true on the part of Brandon Johnson or anyone else on the team, then CJP ought to consider the nuclear option. The nuclear option being the release of those players from the program. Because as I read the NCAA rules, scholarships are renewed annually as opposed to being a guaranteed contract for a longer period of time.
Many on here will remember a few years ago when Tyler Bray held similar sentiments. That attitude is as toxic to a program as it should be terminal for any such player's tenure in the program. If they're not bought in, then they've sold out for self and need to go.

100% agree man. This is why you see such pathetic performances by some guys (Richmond, Buchanan, and the whole offensive line didn’t care to be out there)

I remember saying earlier in the season this team looked to have a lot of players quitting and laying down. People said not to post such things because the players read volnation. Just calling it like I see it. Lotta quitters on this team.

If you have followed Pruitt's pressers over the course of the season, you can tell he was agitated by the attitudes. He said as much in his presser after Vandy game. Hard to let someone go when you are only 1 deep. I suspect that not only will Pruitt flush this bunch, but he'll use a plunger for good measure.

Brandon Johnson's weak performance this year has certainly been a mystery. He broke out at the end of last season and had become our 2nd best WR by the end of the season.

This season, he disappeared after the first few weeks and logged 0 receptions during the last 3 games. He went from 482 yards and 37 receptions last year to 132 yards and 14 receptions this year. If you count RBs and TEs, he went from our 2nd best receiving option to our (at best) 7th receiving option. He's quite literally the only WR on the team that got worse.

Wouldn't be shocking if he quit on the team. Tough to explain away an injury-free 70% drop in production. That doesn't happen simply from having a bad game or two.

If this truly is the case we will be hearing soon of the ones at fault. Not a good place to be in but if this is true it's a simple addition by subtraction situation.

In this time of instant gratification and self before anything or anyone else I have no idea how you fix this. It’s becoming clear it’s a thing on this roster to “I’m gonna take care of me and get mine”. Team concept shot. The only fix to this is to collectively get them, through pride in their team... excell, rather be dead than lose. I don’t envy CJP one bit he’s got a mountain to move.

After the crap show coaching seach that ended with a guy with 0 experience as a coach, can't blame any player for being skeptical. It's a shame none of the staff was able to make them believe or apparently have fun or any pride in themselves or the program. A huge part of coaching is winning the locker room. It's tough when that is impossible for the staff.

Chances are they missed the carefree, soft attitude of the previous doofus too much

My thoughts exactly.

My question would be.... Why did they stay and waste everyone's time?
Or why didn't CJP give them the boot? Surely he knows who these guys are. If he cleaned house, fans would've backed him. Especially in year 1. Instead, CJP showed that he's willing to allow a cancer to fester in the heart of the locker room if it gives him a shot at a couple of extra wins. How is this guy any better than Butch?

Not a difficult sell at all.

You feel bad for the guys that did. This roster wasnt good to begin with and people pulling the opposite direction make it very difficult
That mostly happens when coaching changes happen. When the staff can get their guys in, this will be a better team. I assume the QB was one of those that refused to buy in...
