When you have a QB that either throws the ball at the receivers shoelaces or at the people in the first row, I have a problem blaming the coaching staff. Yes, you can say pull him, which they should have done, but I think loyalty to a kid who was deemed the starter pretty much after Ainge left is whats keeping them from doing so. The other 2 have little game experience. You can call the right plays on offense all day but when your QB aint doing the job, even I know that putting 8 guys in the box on D is smart because he aint gonna complete a pass on ya. I do hope, though, that they have Stephens work more with the first string offense and start him against NIU. We will (god, i hope) win that game and starting Stephens against them will give him good playing time.
I guess my point is, IT IS on the coaching staff not playing a new QB to create chances but ITS NOT on them for calling the right plays and the O just not executing them (coaching staff inst the ones who dont throw it to wide open receivers).
