Ponder has never had anyone to learn under. They can bring Peyton in 2-3 years and help him develop. If they added him they would become an instant contender.
Schaub out could be arranged, but there not going to do that. Any team with a younger QB will not risk it.
A younger QB like TJ Yates? He, not Schaub, won the franchise's first playoff game. They went 7-3 with Schaub beating 1 playoff team. Then using wash-ups and a rookie (Leinart, Delhomme, and Yates) they went 4-4 and beat 3 playoff opponents. I think Schaub is expendable.
I promise you the texans don't think he is though after the last few years.
If anything they now think/know they're good/loaded enough in enough areas to continue winning games if one guy goes down
I wonder if Peyton holds a grudge with ESPN/ABC for their coverage of Charles Woodsen in 97.
Peyton to the Chiefs. That division is one of the weakest in the NFL and Peyton and Berry can beat up on Tebow twice a year.
I think the Jets would be a perfect fit for him. With that D, they would be Super Bowl contenders from day 1. Plus the story lines; A) Peyton and Eli in NY B) Peyton and T. Brady in the same division. Less than 10% chance this happens, but since we are only guessing at this point.
Flacco is younger than schaub and was in the afc championship game. flacco getting traded is far less likely than schaub. and ive already been thru why the jets isnt a good option. they have an average defense. the texans right now have about a 2-3 year window. indy, tenn, and jaxville are not contending in that time. peyton has 2-3 years left in the tank. push your chips in the middle of the table and strike while the iron is hot... win now.Don't see how some believe Peyton could end up a Houston Texan. Matt Schaub is a pretty darn good QB and easily one of the top 10 best in the NFL. With Schaub and Mario Williams healthy, the Texans (100 percent confident) would be in the Super Bowl playing the Giants. They were playing the best football in the league right up until Schaub got hurt.
On to Peyton. I hope the Colts release him (fans won't like it). Peyton doesn't have many years left, and he wants to win now, if he can play. The opportunity to win more championships in Indy has sailed. Let's not forget that Reggie Wayne is a free agent too. If the Colts are smart, they'll go into rebuilding mode now, starting with the drafting of Andrew Luck. Peyton can sign with a contender that needs an upgrade at QB. Teams like San Fran, Baltimore, NY Jets, Dallas, and the Titans are a solid QB away from being Super Bowl caliber. I don't believe Bud Adams would throw the bank at Peyton ,and I don't believe Peyton would want to walk into that mess in New York either.
Not all of the greatest QB's play with the teams they shared all their successes with. Montana played his final 2 years in Kansas City ,and we all know what happened with Brett Favre. Montana will always be remembered as a 49er and Favre as a Packer. The same goes to Peyton. He's a Colt when he gets inducted into the hall of fame, no matter what happens.
I started multiple threads over 2 months ago that Peyton would never play another down... got thrown under the bus , ridiculed ... even banned from starting threads. :hi:
That is one thing that does happen quite often here. If you speak the truth and speak it with passion, you get get banned or your threads/posts get deleted. I made predictions about Ainge and Duke Crews a few years back and those posts that I made my predictions on mysteriously disappeared when the truth came out.
They didn't want me to bump the thread and get my glory as I said "I told you so".
