Peyton Manning calls out Durrant

Not many could take on KD and Westbrook together and get away with it. Is that ghastly blue suit like a blue font?

I think Durant knew it was coming. There wasn't even a residual smile on his face from the previous jokes. But even if he didn't and that was his true reaction....grow up dude. You made a unpopular choice, and you're gonna take heat from it. You couldn't beat them, so you joined them, and there's always gonna be resistance to that, and even some disrespect. You're a rich dude who just got a ring and will probably get 2-4 more at least. Don't take yourself so dang seriously, 95% of NBA players would love to be in your spot.

I am a huge Manning fan but he went to the Broncos to get a ring, didn't he?? Lot of butt hurt if you ask me, Durant picked a great team to join but the style the Warriors employ who wouldn't want to play there!

Wrong. Manning would have stayed with the Colts forever if he had a choice

He wanted to win ANOTHER one with the Colts. The lost season and the Colts landing a franchise QB with a potential 15+ season career forced him to find the best fit to win with whatever time he had left. This was a playful jab that happens at these kind of events and you can't convince me that Durant was ambushed. He knew the joke was coming and had the stone face prepared. As far as him leaving a franchise where he was butting heads with a pass second point guard to go to a franchise where everybody makes the extra pass? Totally agree.

I agree with everything expect for a few points. Durant had the right to go wherever he wanted too that would be a better fit for his play style. However, choosing to go to the Warriors (73-9) record that is, who beat you in the Western Conference Finals with 3 Superstars, doesn't scream "Champion" to me.

He's easily the 2nd best player in the world and you take the easiest path to a ring? That's not being competitive to chase something you want in life.

As far as Peyton goes for joining the Broncos, he didn't really have a choice. Peyton wasn't getting any younger and he knows it. He made the right choice to go to a team that he would feel was best to win one last Super Bowl ring with what he had left in the tank which wasn't much.

Peyton is truly a classy guy who was obviously joking with Durant. He took it the wrong way but honestly, I think he knew he made a weak move in the NBA.

I'll reiterate that it seemed he was going along with the joke and apparently pulled it off too well. He competed like crazy in the Finals and was the best player on that stage. Fact that it ended up being easy adds the words "Smart and savvy" to his resume. He took less to come back and win some more...says a lot about him. Don't know why he would get more props leaving for another team with less a chance to win championships. He's a NBA player...not a Tibetan monk.

Durant was totally playing along. If he was truly bothered - he would've laughed it off. Check out the Rams' coach's reaction to the 'all or nothing' joke to see what I mean.

I don't associate with too many "Lifelong Warriors fans since 2015" since they tend to be "Lifelong Bama fans since 2009"

I always get a kick of out asking these Warrior (or Bama) "fans" who the coach was before Kerr or Saban.

Not sure if it was right before Kerr, but Don Nelson was there for a good while IIRC. :)

If Westbrook and Durant were really as rubbed the wrong way by that as they appeared to be, Good Lord, they need to grow up.

Durant got paid, went to a good team, and won a title. Westbrook won MVP this year. Good for them both. Grow up.

I work with 1 lifelong warriors fan. He was genuinely surprised when they started winning. He didn't know what to do. He was certain that Curry's ankles were going to collapse or something. He couldn't believe it was real.

I dunno I think Peyton went a bit too far there...and them putting KD and Westbrook on camera was lame. this from a guy that thinks Peyton does no wrong. had he left it at the whole KD wants to play for the team it was funny but after that it went downhill and into bad territory.

You don't put people you don't really know on front street like that. It was obvious that was not the case here and they got blindsided by something that was a sore spot for both. 6 months or a year from now the joke takes on a different light but this was too soon and bad placement.

You don't cut for a reaction that fast if you don't know the joke is coming. They were in on it
