Alrighty! Looks like the Miami Dolphins will finally have a decent QB! Manning playing at 75% is >> Matt Moore at 100%.

This is not really news, he could play IF the nerves regenerate to normal. We have known the neck is fine, the nerves have been the issue.

I had heard this also. Nerve regeration takes time if it happens at all.. Much of my neck problem are due to playing football when I was in high school. I went for years dealing with pain and other issues with my neck. One day I woke up and my right hand save my thumb was totally numb.. Freaked me out.. The numbness went away but after many tests it was determined the discs at C5-6 and C6-7 were all but gone. Also, I had some nasty friggin bone spurs and as they put it "serious injury induced arthritis".

Had the fusion done but still have a lot of trouble and occasional tingling and numbness in my hand.. Since all that the discs at C3-4 and C4-5 have deteriorated and make my left shoulder hurt all the damn time... This sh!t sux pretty bad and I would really hate to see Peyton, or anyone else for that matter, have these issues the rest of their lives... I think, for his sake and his families, I would like to see him retire and not risk it but he probably wont...

So come on Jerry, fork out some cash and turn that hosrseshoe into a star... Sorry, had to do it.. Cowboy fan since early childhood... :good!:

great players don't necessarily make great coaches. just ask Isaiah Thomas, Bart Starr, Wayne Gretzky and Ted Williams.

Peyton beats most teams prior to the snap. Hes a great passer but his biggest weapon is the 10 seconds between breaking the huddle and walking to the line. Hes going to beva great snag for anyteam thats grabs him from the colts and automatically puts them in superbowl contention. Colts are dumb if they let him go.

Please mr. Adams let peyton come home!

I would go crazy for that. I could actually make the short drive and see him play on a regular basis.

Not to be that guy but on the way home from work today I heard Bill Meade on The Monster 640am say that both NFL doctors who are fusion specialists have said Peyton should never take another snap in the NFL...

I realize I'm not Peyton or a high caliber athelete but I had C5,6 & 7 fused and I couldn't imagine taking a big hit with my neck the way it is..

Peyton is hall of fame bound and has nothing to prove. I know the man LOVES football but I pray he is making the right decision here... I DO NOT want to see him get hurt worse..

Really because on ESPN, they said the EXACT OPPOSITE ABOUT NOT TAKING A SNAP EVER AGAIN. Good lord....

Hey Peyton, come on down here to Jax. Play a few more years and mentor BG. Oh hell whom am I kidding? Retire be a first ballot HOFer and enjoy your family. Thanks for the memories and definitely VFL ( a term that gets thrown around IMO). Go Vols!

I think Manning, after he retires, will get big-time offers to be a TV commentator. And while he'd probably be fairly good at it, the fact is he'd just end up sitting in a row 6 or 7 former pros turned pundits--like Marino and Cowher and Johnson and Esian do on CBS, which is fairly stupid. They've got so many pundits that each guy gets to make only one very brief point before they move on to the next guy. LOOK! we've got more former pro pundits than the other network. Manning is pretty loyal to UT--and he might consider coaching the Vols some day. Wouldn't that be something--the man would bring in some TALENT--but it would be somewhat risky and probably more stress and BS than he'd want to deal with. But you never know.

I'd like to see Peyton in Houston with Andre Johnson, Foster and an honest to God defense for once in his professional career. And no, I'm not a Houston fan, I just like the fit for Peyton.
