Peyton for QB coach

Maybe there is a time on board clause. He's been on for 7 years and still hasn't hit 100. They probably thought....what the heck, how bad can it be.

Of course what do I know. I have 6400+ posts and they still won't let me start a thread. Might have something to do with me running my ideas by Freak, to see what he thought though. He did seem a little worried for everyone on heres safety when I told him about the threads I wanted to start. :hmm:
You're not alone & I have no solution for you. I've been shot down on every legitimate attempt; just gave up on the popularity bit. Like most other posters, I won't go up to bat. Too much useless pressure anyways...like checking the thread every half-hour looking for "likes" and "atta boys" to the OP). I guess you'll have to just stick to the peanut gallery with the rest of us homers.

Yeah, I said I don't think it'll happen. I just don't think it's fair to say it's stupid or that it's impossible. That is all.

Agree. He's on record as saying he would consider doing it so anybody wanting to call somebody stupid over is out of line. But I think he has bigger fish to fry.

It's beyond a retarded notion that he would even consider being a QB coach...........just stupid

I never said it would happen, just it would be nice.If you want to see a stupid retard look in the mirror. All you are doing is shooting someone in your own army.Vol Nation

Manning would have to be comfortable losing money as a qb coach BC no matter what ut pays him an NFL team can pay him more to be a gm or he can earn a huge check as an analyst. Both of those jobs are higher pay and better job security. Peyton is better as an ambassador for ut than a qb coach.

i agree, no need in him coming as a coach and get burned when something goes south. but he could go on the recruiting road with CBJ as the closer.

If Peyton loves his alma mater as much as I think he does, he needs to strike while the iron is hot and become a coach for UT at some facility.

No one has a better understanding of offensive strategy, and I'm sure he also knows a great deal about defensive strategy despite being an offensive player.

Everyone knows Peyton right now. Our recruiting to play under one of the game's best will be much greater now than in the future. We need Peyton as an offensive coach and we'll be talking dynasty in no time.

I don't want him anywhere near coaching at our school. Our idiot fans will be calling for his head the first bad game our QB has
Peyton could eat a live puppy while pi**ing on a stack of bibles and still win the TN governors race by 40 points. Peyton is up there with Elvis, BB King, Davy Crockett and Johnny Cash among TN royalty.

So funny. If he was offered and turned it down he would be hated like Tee.

I bet not. We'd be disappointed but understanding if he had other prospects and the door would remain open.

Would love to know how many babies were named Peyton during and after his tenure. My neighbors got a little Scottish terrier and ....well ....you know.

Don't be shocked if Peyton is in a Los Angeles Rams uni next year. If he was retiring wouldn't he have announced by now? His agent, Tom Condon, is in LA. The Rams have a good o-line, great rb, breakout wr, stellar defense and invigorated fan base. Magic Johnson practically begged Peyton on national TV to play for the Rams.

If he does retire, I thought it was interesting that the president of operations for the Browns just stepped down. His duties as well as the GMs are being handled by other personnel who also include Podestra (the baseball analytics guy). I could see Peyton starting out as a consultant and building his way up a la Elway. He and Haslam are tight so it seems like a promising landing spot.

Until of course the first time UT doesnt land the best QB in the country and our QB has a bad game. I personally believe TN fans would turn on Peyton faster than a Democrat lying to the American people.
