Peterman Transferring?

ETSU is playing their first season and playing a mix of FCS, D2, D3 schools. Not sure he would want that.

UTC has a SR QB who is very, very good and the Coach's son. Not sure that would be good for Peterman.

He doesn't have to go FCS since he has graduated. He could go to a lower tier FBS.

Agree about UTC... Jacob Huesman is VERY good, better than Peterman IMO, and no way would start at UTC over Huesman.

I hope he doesn't leave. I know there are Peterman bashers who just wait to trash our players, but as some have already noted with Dobbs running a lot, Dormady with a questionable shoulder and a raw Jennings waiting in the wings, we could end up needing Peterman at least as a warm body who gets the ball to playmakers.

So looks like he's not going anywhere.

Looks like it.

I know this is a football board, but for all the people talking about him transferring, why transfer elsewhere? I doubt he expects he has NFL talent.

(Not saying he is not competitive, I am competitive at golf but i'm not stupid enough to quit my job and think I'm going to join the tour).

Hopefully he realizes that by staying at UT he can contribute to a national program regaining relevance; going to a smaller school would likely afford him more playing time but regardless he will be joining us in the workforce next spring!

Poor guy was just never an SEC caliber QB and just could not get those really bad plays out of peoples memories.

I THINK that the QBs coming in after being on campus for about 7 months before the first will be OK in backing up Dobbs for a few snaps or series (heaven forbid few games) I know this will loose their redshirt but Dormandy or someone else coming in would be better or about the same as Petterman coming in FWIW JMO

.....and the backups are pretty good too.
They can run their offense so much better than Peterman.

15 Bennifield, Alejandro QB 6-2 215 So. Lovejoy, Ga. (Lovejoy HS)
14 Huesman, Jacob QB 6-2 220 Sr. Chattanooga, Tenn. (Baylor School)
13 Johnson, Xavier QB 5-10 160 So. Knoxville, Tenn (Bearden HS)
17 Roberson, Tyler QB 6-4 210 So. Martinez, Ga. (Augusta Christian)

Good luck and wish him the best, but this way Dormady and Jennings will get a lot more reps in the spring and battle it out for the backup.

Concur..... Huesman can actually run OR pass Petterson can pass but has NO mobility whatsoever.

GBO and Go Mocs

Peterman isn't great but he is pretty mobile. I don't think Peterman ever really had a fair shot. It
takes more then a couple series for some qb's to settle down. No need to bash this kid he gave his all for UT. The Florida game was a disaster but it wasn't all his fault. Peterman is a better man then the so called Vol fans bashing him. (which I realize are the minority).

He is enrolling in graduate classes at UT, so I don't think he is going anywhere.

...I actually hope this is true. He is a credit to the football program whether he plays another down or not and no wonder he hasn't improved much as a QB, he's been studying his ass off.

Quite the contrary...I think Butch gave him every opportunity dating back to the 2013 FL game. It is obvious it wasn't there for him but I still wish him well and anyone who would bash the guy is no VFL.
