Dude, dont confuse me as a JG apologist. I simply think that it’s too much to ask a guy to make his 1st start in sloppy conditions. Maurer is, by far, head and shoulders, years, tons better than JG.JG hasn't given this team the best opportunity to win in a while. That's all we heard all this year, you tell me who looked better Maurer or JG. JG doesn't have a feel for the game and can't make the correct checks
I'm hoping they don't call too many risky pass plays where he has to force anything. Keep it simple with screens and quick outs, and get rid of the ball quickly and we can lean on the running game. Plus, with the expected rain, I doubt we'll see many shots downfield with a new QB....at least until his first interception?
Really hope it works out well for him (and us). He has a good arm. Key is not forcing it when there is no opening. I suspect we will lean heavy on the running game though and aim to have him toss it down field just enough to keep them from loading the box like they do with JG.
JG or Shrout ---- I am asking just don't know...
Nashville news stated this morning no call as been made as to who starts. Just that if JG gets the call expect loud booing. (hate to think this will happen)
What are the differences in these two skill wise? ( yes, Jg has more experience) I feel their skills are not too different.
If this is true, then why would SC care who is on the field? Preparing for one is preparing for both.
This being the case Coach P may just be waiting to say (if it is JG) who gets the call to keep down the negativity from us experts. AND their are many more than just VolNation experts.....
Honestly, this should have been the strategy for JG ALL year. Past 15 yards JG is worse than many HS QBs when it comes to accuracy, and he typically throws short. It has long been noted, if a QB throws short, but the throw is "catchable" (meaning the receiver will make the effort, as he believes he has a chance at catching it-i.e. the body zone) injuries are twice that, than balls that are over thrown, and the receiver has to stretch out to make the catch. In fact, the best qb's throw a "receiver open"-not short, JG is not that guy.I'm hoping they don't call too many risky pass plays where he has to force anything. I'm not, however JG doesn't bring anything to the table and JT is an unknown. I'm rolling with JT, with a heavy run game and maybe only let him throw 15-20 times Saturday. Behind this OL with Tim Jordan, grind the game out, control the clock and play defenseDude, dont confuse me as a JG apologist.
