People jumping off theMullin train yet ?

Shouldn’t be, nothing has changed;

One week he’s scaring Bama, the next week he’s getting his ass handed to him by a under-manned, interim coach led, arch rival with a losing record AT HOME.

Meet Dan Mullen, Mr Wildly Inconsistent.

Don’t their starting QB get hurt in first quarter??

So Dan Mullen loses his starting quarterback and has to play The Back-up, who hasn't played or started all year and almost wins. And you're saying he's not a good coach?

I am baffled by the ridiculousness and underwhelming football Minds on this board. Whether or not he's the next football coach at UT, to say he's not a good coach is being intellectually dishonest and shows a fundamental lack of football knowledge.

It was Dan Mullen's whole career as a head coach I'm out on.

He is a good but never shown to be a great coach. He had a good year with Dak. What evidence has you believing he is a great coach? 2nd from the bottom consistently in the sec west?

We could do worse, but no Mullen

Honestly I’ve always thought Mullen sucked. Has a losing SEC record....26-30 overall SEC play and 13-26 vs West teams. And before you use the excuse “the West is tough” remember that we have to have 3 wins vs West teams to win an SEC championship.....1 random and have to beat Bama twice.

We haven't had to play 3 West teams in the same season in a decade so I have no idea what the point of this post is.

The funniest thing is that the "you don't know football" and "dumbest fans ever" saying people were the ones saying exactly the same thing about those criticizing Jones and Dooley, as if they weren't the mouth breathers who couldn't tell a decent coach from a hole in the ground. Now they're telling us how stupid we are for not recognizing the amazing Mullen's ability to not lose every single game and actually believing people are off the Mullen wagon solely from last night (A loss to a really bad Ole Miss team).

And, I swear, if you ever say that UT is not a top tier program and we should temper our expectations accordingly, then you need to turn in your UT gear now and root for MTSU or something, because you are a disgrace. Have some damn pride in a program which is in the top ten all-time and demand excellence.

Mullin is not a championship coach.
He lost to Bama this year making Butch type decisions that cost them the game.
I’d pass on him for that alone. He’s an ok coach. But we fired Fulmer because the standard is championships. That hasn’t changed in my mind.
He has told his team he is returning next year so it doesn’t look like he’s a concern of ours.

So who do you think we should have it? Urban Meyer, Saban, or Sweeney? The standard is championships!

I would rather take a shot at Campbell than Mullen, but I think Mullen can win here too.

Frost as his eyes set on Nebraska and always will. If we hired him then his buyout would need to be in the billions lol.

You people are complete fools. First off, you lose your premiere QB which makes the game plan completely different. Oh and let me explain to all of you so called football people....Dan Mullen didn't throw and interception and Dan Mullen didn't fumble the football. I know most of you want to blame him for that but all that shows is how ignorant the majority of you are when it comes to understanding the game. I would take Mullen before most of the names mentioned as a coach. And if we get him and we start winning a lot of games, all you negaVols need to leave and start following another team.

No. Mississippi St was supposed to suck this year. They didn't.

Fitzgerald got hurt. Did you watch the game? They rolled a freshman QB out there that had 66 passing yards on the season before last night. A freshman who had only 66 passing yards. Which basically means he'd never played.

.....and they still almost won the game. I'd say Mullen did pretty well last night....

trust me on this, when this Ole Miss NCAA thing is over, their next stop is Starkville and Mullen will be our Donnie Tyndall 2.0.

There's a damn good reason Florida (his former AD) isn't talking with him.
