Following your logic it would be stupid for anyone to donate to the VASF. The Athletic Department should invest in trained street salesmen to fill the stadium up with bodies at all costs.
It is stupid to donate to the VASF unless you see some value in it (i.e., knowing that you have the same seats reserved for you at every home game).
students pay a ton of fees and should get free tickets-no question.
People pay a ton of fees and taxes to Knoxville. Citizens should get free tickets-no question.
People pay for their food at restaurants. They should get free booze-no question.
Students at UT pay for tuition and fees. Those fees cover their education, bus service, technology, etc. None of them go to men's athletics, especially football.
1) Nobody has to pay that donation.
2) Who is the "fat cats"?

You sir are wrong. We are charged an activities fee that covers our "free" tickets to all other athletic events. Best way to solve the problem is raise the activity fees by 80 dollars, which is for all eight home games. Everyone wins then, students think they get "free" tickets, and the athletic department makes more money from students that don't go to the games
While your solution is the same as mine was when they changed the policy a few years back, I disagree about your first point.
No money from fees goes to men's ad. A lot does go to the women's. The other men's sports are free because of low demand. No way students would pay for the others. The prospect of selling drinks and food is far better than any gate money to baseball or women's soccer.
