Pay $500,000 to IMG or let students in free to games.

When has it not been the truth.
Following your logic it would be stupid for anyone to donate to the VASF. The Athletic Department should invest in trained street salesmen to fill the stadium up with bodies at all costs.

It is stupid to donate to the VASF unless you see some value in it (i.e., knowing that you have the same seats reserved for you at every home game).

Yeah that's called season tickets if I'm not mistaken...

VolDAD, I am glad we are on the same page, I have stopped my donation which started before the VASF as I was a grandfather ticket holder and cancelled my 4 tickets. I can find as good or most of the time better seats
on ebay, craigslist or from the many sclapers . The people around my old seats seemed to change every year.

They do not need my donation to fund that bloated athletic deportment or paying $500,000 to IMG.

I will donate again WHEN Hamilton is fired.

Letting students in free would help fill up the stadium again. Even if it was just for a few seasons. I hate seeing all those seats empty every Sat.[/QUOTE]

students pay a ton of fees and should get free tickets-no question.

People pay a ton of fees and taxes to Knoxville. Citizens should get free tickets-no question.

People pay for their food at restaurants. They should get free booze-no question.

Students at UT pay for tuition and fees. Those fees cover their education, bus service, technology, etc. None of them go to men's athletics, especially football.

I like your line of thinking.

1) Nobody has to pay that donation.

2) Who is the "fat cats"?

I believe the current occupant of the WH has identified them as anyone making $250K and more but you'll have to move quickly because he expects them to make Medicare and Medicaid solvent, prop up Social Security, balance the budget, keep those unemployment checks coming, pay for food stamps, subsidize solar and wind energy and corn growers in Iowa, etc., etc., etc. Paying for improvements at Neyland is fairly far down the list.

You sir are wrong. We are charged an activities fee that covers our "free" tickets to all other athletic events. Best way to solve the problem is raise the activity fees by 80 dollars, which is for all eight home games. Everyone wins then, students think they get "free" tickets, and the athletic department makes more money from students that don't go to the games

While your solution is the same as mine was when they changed the policy a few years back, I disagree about your first point.

No money from fees goes to men's ad. A lot does go to the women's. The other men's sports are free because of low demand. No way students would pay for the others. The prospect of selling drinks and food is far better than any gate money to baseball or women's soccer.

I agree with your last point that food money being better than gate money on those sports. I don't think no money goes to the mens AD though. I'd be willing to bet more than you think does but I have no statistics on that

in knoxville,then nashville,thenmemphis,then tn,atlanta
would get in free to the games....would develop fans for the non sellouts and would get the occasional prospect
