Any chance we get him? He was great at navy and has GT looking great in his first season there. Many people predicted them to be 2nd to last (in front of duke) in the ACC. What do you guys think?
Why? I promise you the fans will not get excited and the boosters will not pony up the money to get a triple option coach at Tennessee.
I like Paul Johnson but he'll never be in consideration for the job.
Trust Me folks, The triple option has worked in the SEC for years and years before Spurrier and gang showed up and started throwing the ball every down...The triple option can be a very lethal weapon when used properly...Hell Nebraska was killing everybody up until a few years ago with it so why wouldn't it work?...That type of offense just wears down defense to the point of total exhaustion...I am bias however, I love the triple option offense.![]()
He would be about #24 on the list, but, technically, he would be a possibility.with all the chat about possible HC replacements i thought i'd throw another name out there. Paul Johnson from GA Tech. I know they just lost to NC today but i love what Johnsons doing to GT in his first year. He was a successful at Navy before that also. He may be a little old, but he's a great coach.
The triple option would not be a step forward for UT and would certainly be a major turnoff for any highly rated pro-style QBs and WRs.i love how everybody rejects candidates and doesnt even offer a reason why they dont like them. if your going to argue against a candidate i think you can find a better argument than just saying "no"
