Paul finebaum show

I'm *trying* to get my house cleaned, so I don't need to get ticked and call up and live for an hour on hold. But everytime Lance mumbles the word "tnnnmmsssee", I find myself initiating the speed dial. It's like stupid football fan crack.

I

JUST

CAN'T

STOP

MYSELF!

GBO!!!

I have a feeling I'll be harassing...erm...calling to correct...um...talk to Finebaum a lot for the next few years. It's actually kind of fun. Especially considering some of the idiots who call--like the one who called yesterday from Mississippi and said that Saban was a communist like Hitler and Finebaum was his Goebbels.

Evidently not a history buff.

Heard that one. My wife and I just looked at each other and shook our heads in disbelief. Lol

What kills me is that OBVIOUSLY this dude had to google to figure out who Hitler's propaganda mastermind was, but even then he still thought that "fascist"="nazi" and the two terms were interchangeable.

Incredible. And just as obviously, this caller was an articulate man. He just must have missed World War II the day that they taught it in school. Unbelievable.

Don't forget Stalin was thrown in the mix.. Got tickled at Pawl asking him what was his blood alcohol levels..

Darriel typical Dawg fan....callers make the show I know but I wish some of these peeps get over themselves..

Darriel and I have had words before. He's an ex-Marine and blubbers about how he's a trained killing machine.

I think the only thing he kills now are consonants.

I am a SEC fan. When ESPN announced that there was going to be a SEC sports channel I was excited and could hardly wait. While it has given me the opportunity to see things about all the teams I never would have seen otherwise, I am extremely disappointed in the Paul Finebaum Show. What was to have been a call in show for all the teams has become a show for 'Bama and Auburn fans to exchange barbs and insults with each other. Very seldom is any other caller representing a team other that those 2 allow to get any air time. I for 1 and tired of hearing only about THEM. Please join with me in asking ESPN/SEC officials to have a balanced - unbias show or get someone to replace PF and his producer. I'm sure all the teams in the SEC are paying their salaries. Only 2 of the 14 teams in the SEC are getting their monies worth. Please send your requests to paulfinebaumshow@espn.com,secsports.com/feedback. Let's take control of what is suppose to be OUR sho. That's exactly the reason I quit watching it.

What you fail to understand is that Finebaum has been involved with sports in Birmingham, Alabama for over 30 years, as a newspaper reporter, and mostly a radio host. He has been a fixture in Alabama for a long time.

He has had a ton of Alabama and Auburn fans calling him since the early 80's. What you want is for the SEC Network to televise the Jayson Swain radio program.

I think that is the point Grad. Every SEC team and city have personalities that have built their careers covering the hometown team. Some are good, serious journalist and some are hacks that just try to stir the pot. It would have been very easy for the SEC network to have found an impartial reporter, columnist or commentator to fill that spot. They choose the radio version of a message board troll to get prime face time.

I have no problem with Finebaum per se. The guy found a niche and exploited it for all it was worth. However, like many SEC fans, I have no interest in his schtick. Sometimes the train wreck produces some funny segments but that is about the extent of the value of the show.

Just wanted to let you know that I loved the call. How you put ol Lance and his Flar-duh fans in there place on twitter was great. Keep it up I love it!! Go Vols!! #DrainTheSwamp #VFL

Almost forgot I will be watching and hoping to here what you have to say on monday. Go Vols! #DrainTheSwamp Def. A TRUE #VFL!!!
The Lane Train? Why?!?

A part of me agrees with you, but its too entertaining to listen to those morons call in and I get to laugh and let me wife and others know that Bama is the most embarrassing piece of CFB amd that's why they're by far the worst fanbase.

This was a well written post. Probably the most accurate description of Finebaum's show that I've read

Thanks for the head's-up. I won't waste my time with that garbage.

Phyllis the Alabama fan got exposed as a fraud by an Ohio State fan earlier this week. Did anyone else see it? She's a regular caller on the show and is always making a fool of her self. Anyways, the OSU fan asked her to name five current Tide players. She first said Kanye West, then a couple made up names, followed by Cooper who is now in the NFL. It was all pretty hilarious. She got laughed off the show, but not before calling them stupid as well as other names.

The easiest way to turn the conversation from Alabama and Auburn?

It's to CALL IN. Change the topic. Be proactive instead of reactive. Instead of whining that other schools don't get enough air time, make a positive effort and do something about it. The PFS started as a local show about Alabama football. The old school callers, the regulars, keep those roots alive. But I've been calling multiple times a week, every week, for over a year and I can guarantee you that UT is getting far more attention on the show as a result. I don't call up and just yell "Go Vols!!!" either. I try to bring legitimate substance to every call.

Why not give it a try instead of launching an email campaign that won't work? Why not become a presence on Twitter, or carve out a niche for yourself as a caller and keep UT in the spotlight?

Cause it sure would be damn nice for me not to have to work this hard to do it for you.

Pretty easy to get confused when you're nursing your husband through stage four cancer. Maybe try to think a little before crowing over someone's humiliation. Last I checked, there's no law that says a fan has to be able to name 5 players in order to be considered legit. Wonder what would happen if everyone who has a game ticket was asked to name 5 players before they're allowed to enter Neyland. Think the stadium would be full? Cause I sure don't.

Finebaum show= Drunken Redneck Free-For-All. To top it off the gloating Suckeye fans are now calling in. :shakehead: :shakehead:

What is so hilarious is that you don't ever hear of SEC fans watching the Big 10 (12) network. They are so insecure.

She can be a super fan without naming five players, and there are a lot of Vols superfans who can't do it either. Quit acting holier than thou. Not everyone sleeps with Athlons under their pillow.
