Paul finebaum show

Thanks for sharing this, mscelina.

I only caught the end of your call today. D***it!

The end was the important part, considering Lance's truly ignorant call earlier in the show. Working on a video rant for Florida week based on the immortal statement "The only good gator is a pair of shoes"...

Phyllis is a typical gentically deficient fan that calls Alabama home. Of course I feel for her story, but she isn't the only person in the world that takes care of debilitated children. If I had the time to call into a show and rant and rave like a fool as much as she does, then I would clearly not be spending enough time with my daughter. Hate on me all you want, but I feel no pity for her. I'm an Iraq and Afghanistan veteran (Proud USAF MEDIC) and now a pediatric nurse. She is a pathetic person to uplift on national tv where young kids and teens are watching.

*shrug* whatever. Seems to me that as a hospice nurse, Phyllis would resonate more with you than she obviously does. But I guess that's your problem, not mine. I always thought compassion was a prerequisite for a successful nurse but apparently I was incorrect.

Fortunately Phyllis displays far more compassion for her patients, family or no. And since the Vols are a team she likes and respects, I'll certainly enjoy a continuing friendship with her and endeavor to offer her the support and understanding that pathetic human beings like her deserve.

Best of luck in your career and thank you for your service.

Just please make it better than the "turlet" guy yesterday.

I agree with ya.. And I also thank u of your service.. But reality on a phone call lasting 45-60 seconds is not what a person is IMO yes she comes off abrasive but after hearing her story makes me understand more where her love of the tide is from..

Yes. Downs Symdrome, iirc.

I was just blown away that Stallings still makes such an effort to stay in touch with Phyllis's son over twenty years later. Great man. Wrong team, but great man.

The full story will go up in my Songs of the South blog series tonight or tomorrow. My SOS is already up--about how the 1985 Sugar Vols, poor sportsmanship, and a refused handshake made me turn from a lackluster Vols fan to a VFL.

And if anyone has a great story about what made them love the Vols (beyond I grew up here/went to UT/like the colors) message me. I'm looking for unusual stories--something beyond the norm. I'd love to hear them

mscelina, for a technochallenged dip (me), where would I find your blog? I've looked on Google and all I get is Disney, and racist. Lol

My bad. My blog is Elf Killing and Other Hobbies.

Racists were a recent blog topic of mine and Disney is because I edited the last Roger Rabbit novel a couple of years ago. So, I'm really not a Disney racist. :)

Marcus Spears is a huge advocate for the vols this year. I don't have to call with the Big Swagu there talking us up.

Awesome read. That year, 1985/6 I was in a weapons system survival school in AZ. I missed the first half of that game and missed the lack of a hand shake at the opening.

Glad you put that story out there. And I thought I could not dislike Miami any more than I already did. I was wrong!

I'm still pissed about that. Between the smack talk and Johnson's lack of interest in the game he was playing, there is NO WAY the Miami captains weren't coached to leave our guys hanging. They were told to make our guys look like fools to show their contempt for the bowl opponent they had. But in the end, they not only proved how classless they were but were the ones who looked like fools. That third quarter was the most enjoyable fifteen minutes of football I ever watched. Only thing that could have made it better would have been Jimmy Johnson's toupee knocked off his head by a sideline tackle.

Yeah wasn't going to call today b/c I'm down with the flu, but one more snarky comment and I just might.

I think it's underestimated how big of a deal it is that the D didn't know they wouldn't have Coach Martinez until hours before the game. Bad move by Butch, but I think that attributed a lot of our problems.

I thought PF was supposed to be a rerun today. Swore thats what I heard on Saturday. Guess I heard wrong.

When a thirteen year old kid who's a Georgia fan calls up Finebaum and demands to know how much longer he can be expected to tolerate Mark Richt's inability to win the SEC in fourteen years, you know you're dealing with the SEC.

God love the South.
