Can someone fill me in and explain why everyone says finebaum is a bammer?
I'm a younger vol fan so I don't know a whole lot about what his history is. I've heard he lived in Birmingham for a long time, why would he? And does that necesarly make him a bammer? Thanks

I tend to agree w/ Jasonvol. First and foremost....he is a fan of whomever will get the ratings up - he started in Alabama so naturally the bammers and barners jumped on his show. He is also a fan of great competition and which ever team(s) are in the hunt...see ratings. I've heard him slam bama, auburn, Saban and just about any other team or coach who doesn't win when they should....or prove to be totally incompetent....like Chizik and Dooley.
In the end...while it may not make particular fans happy...he can be (and frequently is) quite harsh, condescending, etc...but calls it like he sees it.[/QBammer.
Absolutely. I have heard him slam Ala as much as anybody. He even slams his boyfriend Saban at times. He was hard on UT about the Dooley hire from the beginning but has been very high on and really likes Butch. He has pissed off every SEC fan base and I forget who Alabama's last basketball coach was but his wife got into with Finebaum over how he talked about her husband. But he is in the business where showing where your allegiance is can have you unemployed pretty fast. It has gotten him from a lowly beat writer and newspaper journalist to having his own call in show on the SEC network and one of the hosts on SEC Nation. I don't agree with everything he says but he definitely isn't a Bammer
I am a SEC fan. When ESPN announced that there was going to be a SEC sports channel I was excited and could hardly wait. While it has given me the opportunity to see things about all the teams I never would have seen otherwise, I am extremely disappointed in the Paul Finebaum Show. What was to have been a call in show for all the teams has become a show for 'Bama and Auburn fans to exchange barbs and insults with each other. Very seldom is any other caller representing a team other that those 2 allow to get any air time. I for 1 and tired of hearing only about THEM. Please join with me in asking ESPN/SEC officials to have a balanced - unbias show or get someone to replace PF and his producer. I'm sure all the teams in the SEC are paying their salaries. Only 2 of the 14 teams in the SEC are getting their monies worth. Please send your requests to paulfinebaumshow@espn.com,secsports.com/feedback. Let's take control of what is suppose to be OUR show. thanks
Winning cures all. I fully expect our group of idiots to be calling in a lot in early August.
The show was based out of Birmingham and it has a group of loyal callers that are indeed insane, but have helped Finebaum get to where he is today. I respect PF for not forgetting who helped him succeed and allowing idiots like Charles from Reeltown or Phyllis call in regularly.
