Yeah I get what you're saying. But do you really want a show that shows just as much on Vandy or UK, or whichever Mississippi school heads back to where they belong first, as they do the top teams in the conference? ESPN doesn't think so. And I tend to agree. I'd rather wait to be represented when we are worth talking about than have to listen through a bunch of crap no one cares about.

Besides, there is absolutely nothing they are going to talk about on the show that you couldn't have read about here first

Just asking but, do you really think PF, as biased as he is will talk about UT like he does Bama? IMHO I don't.

Yes I would rather see something on Vandy, Texas A&M or whoever more than I want to have a 4 hour show giving praise to Bama/Auburn.

Tell me what would/is appealing to the Mizzou,TA&M, Vandy or any other SEC school's fanbase with the present format of the PF show. Does he have a following? Yes but primarily just Bama/Auburn fans. ESPN is smart, they are tracking and watching the viewing audience and they will see that it is not widespread and attractive to the total SEC fanbase. Each fanbase is passionate about their team and wants to hear about them, not just Bama/Auburn.

How many fans of another school are gonna pay an up-charge just to get the SEC NETWORK if their team is not getting some coverage.

I don't understand the apparent utter disdain for his alma mater

Not disdain, disappointment. He was free to speak the truth about the dumpster fire at Tennessee when all these local TN sports broadcasters were forced to "suck on the tit" and support a God-awful program.

I've heard him say many hopeful things about Tennessee since Butch took over. Quite honestly, I said WAY worse things about Tennessee during the Kiffin/Dooley years.

Even if you want to have a cynical view of his compliments, just keep in mind that its way better for his business if Tennessee's program is good. (Bama/UT rivalry in full swing).

If UT was a powerhouse, and challenging Bama, absolutely I think he would.

The reason he hasnt given them much lip service the last few years is because there were very very very few positive things for him to say.

I'd rather hear PF talk honestly about UT than hear those Knoxville radio sycophants go on and on about a bunch of nothing for hours.

I wasn't referring to you at all. For a lot of people I think it's the Howard Stern effect, people who like him listen to him for 20 minutes a day, those who hate him listen for 4 hours to see what will make them mad so they have something to write letters about.

I think your right.

Look man if you don't like it simply dont watch it. I watch just about everyday and yes there are always those crazy callers but he talks about every team in the Sec some what. The last month or so Tennessee and Arky have been getting a lot of praise, rightfully so! Btw yesterday a caller called in and asked why General Neyland was not in more discussion about the greatest of all time and the caller stated that Bear Bryant had learned most of his coaching skills from the General! PF then said the General was one of the best and prob the best! PF will jump on our bandwagon when we return to glory! GBO!!! VFL!!!!!

Let me clarify something. I don't watch/listen to much of PF show. Haven't after about 2 days of it being on the air and seeing/hearing it for what is. That is my point, a lot of people are not, and the majority of his audience has to be from just Bama/Auburn fans.

After all it is the SEC NETWORK - not the Bama/Auburn network. :thud::thud:

If he is embedded in AL for 30 years and everyone, including the SEC Network knows this, then why would they give him his own show on the network when the network is about the entire SEC and not just two teams.... Their ratings during that time slot have got to have taken a nose-dive since no other SEC team wants to tune in and hear about AL vs AU...

I think Finebaum is perfectly willing to talk about other programs, and he does. Before he had a national program on Sirius, he was a local Bama reporter and the majority of his early hardcore following is from that state. Those people followed him to the SEC network. Not really his fault. In fact, one of his hard core followers is a guy from Georgia.

The sec has two " cash cows" bama football & uk basketball always have and always will be. The sec network is unfortunately about what I expected.

Understand that. The winner is always talked about more that the others. But the PF show is totatly biased to Bama. I'm sure the Bama fans don't think so but they aren't real smart anyway.

I think you guys misunderstand the purpose of having PF.

In spite of the Bama-centric talk, Finebaum had the biggest sports radio talk show in the south prior to joining ESPN. He was labeled one of the most influential men in college football. Hell, even the University of Tennessee gave him an award as well as the Tennessean.

Why?

People listen to him for entertainment value, not "to hear about their favorite SEC team". Without the toothless brainless Bammers, Paul Finebaum wouldnt have a show worth listening to.

It is never just 4 hours of bama/auburn, yes there is a lot but he covers the whole leauge pretty good imo. A lot of fans hate him just because he loves bama but when Tennessee returns to the top he will jump right back on our bandwagon. He actually defends UT from a lot of hate calls and gives them credit. I guess we will see where his true colors are when we are back! GBO!!

IMHO That is why the majority of the SEC fanbases do not watch him.

Based on his past ratings, I dont think that statement can be backed up.

PF is like a bad habit. Nobody admits to listening to him, but I bet if you were in the car ride home with them, you'd find out a different story.

That's why we need to try to get him removed and sent back to b-ham.

You mean back to Knoxville for the re-education camp. First one did not take.

Actually, PF has a "radio face". How on earth did they decide to put that guy in front of a camera? :eek:hmy:
