I listened to the game on the Vol Network tonight, and I observed several things tonight.
1. Scotty Hopson is a very talented player, but he is so inconsistent. He takes games off, and he usually picks games in which there are huge implications. When he's good, he's good. But when he's off, he's REALLY off, and on top of that, he allows it to destroy his confidence.
2. Brian Williams is a much-needed big body in the middle, but he doesn't have the ability to be aggressive.
3. Tobias Harris is a major playmaker on this team. I realize that there are many here who would argue at this point that he needs to put the team on his shoulders, but that is asking a lot of a freshman, and we're not there yet.
4. Skylar McBee and Steven Pearl have taken so much heat this season, but I feel that it is more because of their small roles rather than how they play in those roles. Coach Pearl has a certain job for them to do. They did not play well at all tonight. I agree. But to say that should not be given any playing time is laughable.
5. I know that because we have now lost three in a row, emotions and knee-jerk reactions will be flying everywhere. I have been reading some of the comments, and it never ceases to amaze me what you all will post on here out of frustration, although understandable. The important thing to know is that there is A LOT of basketball left to be played this season. This is still a good basketball team, and Bruce is a good basketball coach. Adjustments will be made, at least until the time comes to serve his suspension. Crucify me if you desire, but I will reiterate the importance of PATIENCE. Be patient. The ship will be righted, and we will get back on track.
