Probably because you were the caller.![]()
No, but my sister does know his wife.
Let's see how people react to the new coach compared to Martin if he doesn't make the NCAA and his team scores the same or less than Martin's. Martin outperformed expectations each year and made a Sweet 16 by year three. That wasn't good enough and his teams were too boring. Lets see if CDT gets the same negativity that Martin did after this year. People said no matter what if we didn't win 20 games and make the tourney the season was bad. Lets see if CDT is held to the same standard. He inherited more returning production than Martin did.
Wonder what would have happened if he were a white guy what would there story be then

Barely. And even with that, he only returns one starter in JRich, and then Reese, Moore, & Hubbs. That's 4 of 13 roster spots.
Martin at least returned a majority of Pearl's final roster, even if they were mostly unproven players.
Thought it was a pretty good article, and there's a lot of truth to the last paragraph, "I honestly think me leaving is good for me and probably good for Tennessee," Martin concluded. "Like I said, there were a lot of wonderful people there. But, for me, it was time.".
Donnie Tyndall could've been hired instead of Martin and it likely would've been the same result, as Calban said unless that coach came in here and produced 3 straight NCAAT appearances mixed with a deep run, they likely weren't going to be too highly thought of.
The slate is now clean, and as Tyndall said Day 1, hopefully everyone can get back on the same team.
Which part?
I know for a fact people harassed his wife. I said it when he left.
It is a fact he beat expectations his first and last year definitely. Matched them his second year without his leading returning scorer. Sweet 16 his third year. That was not good enough.
Never won less than 19 games. Not good enough.
Lets see if the NCAA or bust people say the same things for CDT.
To please the Martin haters he would need to make the NCAA every year with at least 20 wins and no losses to "worse" teams and average at least about 75 a game. If you are holding them to the same standards that is.
But to plaster the WHOLE fanbase because some racist idiots went too far?...you live in the same world we do right? There's racism everywhere but the powers that be in Knoxville HIRED Cuonzo! And they didn't fire him...he left! If he had returned he would have had a lot of license to rebuild his way...Hart doesn't fire people who are competent...it took an act of Congress to expunge Dooley for crying out loud...victimmongers screaming how unfairly Zo was treated are a tired act, and no matter how loud they squawk, it's not going to give CDT only one year as some warped sense of payback!
Good post.
The other thing that stuck out to me was Martin admitting that he knew 2 or 3 months into the job that it wasn't a good fit.

When did anyone say it was the whole fanbase? It was a factor seeing as he knew some fans didn't like him for that reason. He left in part because he didn't want to deal with it.
Funny you bring up Dooley because more people were on Dooley's side than Zo's and Martin did a million times better.

I will treat CDT like ZO. If he meets or beats expectations I will be happy.
Others were the ones who had all these stipulations on what is a good year. I just want to see those people stick to the same standards.
You can't compare the first season under Martin and the first season under Tyndall. Martin had a 4 star player at every position in his starting 5. Tyndall won't even have a PG or a Center.
