How far from stadium? Any place to tailgate? How is traffic getting out? Anything please?

Tailgate in your own spot. If you are a big tailgater, get one of the spots in the corners where you have more room. Getting out is a bit of a bear. KPD blocks off the road just below it that would allow you to go straight down to the main road and toward I-40. Sometimes you can drive into the other lane and go anyway, sometimes someone moves the cones and signs, and sometimes the KPD stands by waiting for someone to do one of those things.

Also, not a bad walk if you use the pedestrian bridge over the main road (I forget the name of it) there at the Convention Center and then cut through Worlds Fair Park.

I want to say it's 10, but if I'm wrong, it's 20.00 and yes anyone can park there.

My dad and I parked in the Locust Street Garage for the Vandy game last year and I believe it was $10 and we had no problem getting out to I40. I am not sure with all of the construction if that will affect anything.

Anyone can park there, and it is $10. We always park there. It's usually pretty easy getting out too, especially if you wait a little while after the game for most of the traffic to clear out. The pedestrian walkway goes over Henley Street, and it's not a very far walk to get to the stadium. You can cut through World's Fair Park. If you get there early enough you should consider going over to the Market Square, which you are very close to anyway, and then Gay St. and The Old City. (Just thought I'd add that in case you're from out of town)

I used to live down in market sq area, and my family would park in locust street garage. If you know what is best and would like to actually tailgate, go all the way to the top, it is open air, and honestly a nice area. It is 10 bucks to park, and has an easy out to I-40.

Also there is a shuttle that picks you up right in front of market sq. It is 4 bucks R/T and drops you off in front of the science building next about a 1/4 mile from stadium, and will bring you back from the same place, after the game....very convenient

I didn't want to start another thread but I have a question about a State of Tennessee parking lot that I think is on Locust Street also. I have heard it is behind and old Courthouse building... It might even be on Church or Union. Does anyone know exactly where this parking lot is, and if you have seen people tailgating in it? I just found out I can park there because I have a General Parking pass for the State, but I have never been there.

It's good to have a secret parking spot for game day :) There's this little underground Garage we park in just over the hill, I don't think I've ever seen more than 3 cars there, and it's a 5-10 minute walk to Neyland from there

When I usually go to a UT game, I stay at a hotel downtown so I can usually walk to the stadium or I will go to the game with someone with a parking pass.
Well, tomorrow I am driving in with my parents and fiance and will need to find a place to park that is cheap and close (Dad is 68 and has PMR so he cant walk far). I need some advice on a good place to park. Any help would be appreciated.

Couldn't you drop them off at River Road and catch up? Hopefully you'll get a better suggestion than that though.

You could drop them off with a cell and meet up with them after parking. Maybe even bring a bicycle to cut down on walking time to and from the car.

Whoever owns all the motor scooter rickshaws in downtown Nashville ought to truck those things up to K-town for game days. They could rake it in giving people rides to/from parking lots.

i'm with the others. your best bet is going to be to drop them off outside the stadium and parking somewhere on/near the strip.

good luck picking them up after the game.

I don't bother driving to campus on gameday any more. I just bicycle from South Knoxville. A helmet is pretty critical, though.

Parking in the Old City and riding a trolley to the game will cut down on the amount of walking you'd have to do.

I believe you can park behind the civic coliseum and for a small fee , ride a bus over to the stadium. Not a bad deal if you want to stay together as a family. Here is a link
