Pack Your Bags To Atlanta Cuz..........

He hates UT. He said our program was "eroding" and had no hope earlier in the year. What does that say about the rest of the SEC East.

He did have some interesting things to say about teams whose coaches were leaving after bowl games and the results(example of LSU/Iowa, Saban to Miami).
Hopefully we get to the SECCG and Miles is going to Michigan. All you stat freaks on the board should be able to help out with bowl game results after the teams cuurent coach was leaving.

Where are you getting your tickets? Will there be a time where they go on sale to the general public for face value?

The SEC championship game sells out a year in advance. The only way you are getting tickets for face value is if you take your knee pads to the Georgia Dome.

edit: I'm talking about begging here, not the other activity.

Anyone have experience with scalping down there?

You don't want to go that route unless you are forced to. State laws prohibit scalping and although it still happens, I have watched people get hauled off for it. Some of Atlanta's finest seem to equate scalping with murder and rape.

The thing about that is it's not illegal to buy tickets over face, just sell them...right?
That's my understanding . . . I actually think you can sell tickets meant for personal use, but even the legal scalping is minimal around the stadium because they enforce a large buffer zone around the stadium (something like 2-3,000 feet).v

It's not that you can't do it. It's just that it's sort of hush hush and the cops up there can be a real pain about it.

I've gone down several times without tickets and got them off the street...most of time, for less than face value. One year, so many were trying to be sold that the price was way under face value.

Yeah I have bought down there before, it's funny, the scalper handed me the tickets and kept walking, said, I'll be back, look at them, let me know what u think, I want "x" for them. When I went to pay him, he said, just hand me the money and go man, put those in your pocket quick.

He must have been burned before.

It won't be that way this year with Number 1 LSU and it's fans in town.

Some of Atlanta's finest have an IQ slightly above room temperature.

GAVol is right - don't give them an opportunity to make your life miserable.

I have had good luck with StubHub.com in the past - they guarantee any tickets you purchase - plus they have a pickup area downtown that's within walking distance of the GA Dome if your tickets don't arrive via mail in time.

well I hope he is wrong but we still have to beat vandy and KY. I dont remember any other time I really have been worried about us beating vandy and KY. By the time we played vandy in 2005 it didnt really matter much to me either way. I still didnt want to us to lose to vandy it just wasnt that important.

Does anyone besides me find this conversation a wee bit premature? Not necessarily inappropriate, but maybe a little early in the game?

Remember, you still have a full quarter of your SEC schedule to play.

I've told this story before . . . We went to the dome for the SEC tournament a couple of years ago looking to buy tickets and a guy offered us tickets for $20 apiece and wanted us to just follow him through the gate and pay him in the stadium. We got to the turnstile and the ticket taker said we had tickets for the wrong session. We're thinking "We haven't even paid anybody yet. What is up?"

The ticket taker told us to walk away and come back with a $20 bill behind the ticket. The guy that gave us the ticket was a runner and was in cahoots with the ticket taker selling unused tickets and ticket stubs . . . which didn't really bother us since we were getting in for $20.

Thank you citizen. For a moment there we were having a conversation. Thank goodness you saved us.
