That's my understanding . . . I actually think you can sell tickets meant for personal use, but even the legal scalping is minimal around the stadium because they enforce a large buffer zone around the stadium (something like 2-3,000 feet).vThe thing about that is it's not illegal to buy tickets over face, just sell them...right?
Some of Atlanta's finest have an IQ slightly above room temperature. You don't want to go that route unless you are forced to. State laws prohibit scalping and although it still happens, I have watched people get hauled off for it. Some of Atlanta's finest seem to equate scalping with murder and rape.
I've told this story before . . . We went to the dome for the SEC tournament a couple of years ago looking to buy tickets and a guy offered us tickets for $20 apiece and wanted us to just follow him through the gate and pay him in the stadium. We got to the turnstile and the ticket taker said we had tickets for the wrong session. We're thinking "We haven't even paid anybody yet. What is up?"Yeah I have bought down there before, it's funny, the scalper handed me the tickets and kept walking, said, I'll be back, look at them, let me know what u think, I want "x" for them. When I went to pay him, he said, just hand me the money and go man, put those in your pocket quick.
He must have been burned before.
Does anyone besides me find this conversation a wee bit premature? Not necessarily inappropriate, but maybe a little early in the game?
Remember, you still have a full quarter of your SEC schedule to play.
