They got Butched in Knoxville and had to move on....we got Butched and are still here. I’m glad they are doing well.

Hurd and Williams will both get drafted and UT fans will keep making excuses about how we’re better off without them.

Not I. Jalen Hurd was the second coming of a Eddie George and Butch Jones didn’t have a clue how to use him. Everyone knew Jalen could have had a 2000 yard season running out of the I formation but Butch is Butch.

With the way the NFL has gone, Hurd will be a very valuable player with his size and speed and versatility. Good luck Jalen.

Well, you’re living in big orange la la land.
Vol fans need to take their heads out of their ass. These players aren’t slaves or objects to satisfy you. Butch Jones was a ****ing idiot. A clown. A phony.

Baylor WR Jalen Hurd's imperfect, but calculated path to the NFL
I never said Jones wasn't but it really doesn't matter at this point. Both of those guys left and it really doesn't matter what they did elsewhere. All it tells me is that the conference's they transferred to must be pretty weak.

We didn't have an OC that could gameplan around the pathetic OL and JG's limitations to get the ball quickly in space to playmakers (in this case, Chandler, Hurd, Williams, Callaway, Jennings)....
Out of curiosity, what would you have done to mask the lines deficiencies? Runs didn't work due to contact in the back field, screens didn't work since the corners could play close knowing the line couldn't hold blocks for longer than 2.5 seconds which is part of the reason it looks like JG holds on to the ball too long (a line that cannot ever average 3 seconds of protection makes the QB look super slow to get rid of it) down field passing had the same issue as the screens in that blocking was horrendous all year long. Could luck having your receiver beat coverage down field within 2 seconds.
Not trying to be an arse about it but I see a lot "should have game planned better" with no explanation on what that looks like. What would you like to have seen different in the game plan to overcome the line being as bad as any line we have ever had?

Honest question to get clarity on your stance....

It’s the Fourth quarter of the championship game. The QB gets a serious concussion. Coach knows it but still sends him back out to seal the victory....cause this crap has and does happen.

Does the QB just go back out there cause is best for the team?

Cause this is the kinda crap Hurd was dealing with and it was either suck it up buttercup or quit and transfer to we’re he would be able to still walk at age 35.
I don't have a problem with the transfer just the way he went about it. He was taking a beating but also dishing one out that being said if he was hurt then no a coach should not send any player on the field that is hurt. There is exceptions but not with concussions.
When all this went down years ago it looked or seemed to me like he wasn't getting what he wanted so he left and went somewhere where he played WR and some RB. JMO I don't know the kid or whether he was hurt or not but should have waited til the end of the season to do anything.

And. As I said that is a narrow way to look at it.

We didn't have an OL that could hold their blocks long enough for Williams to get behind a defense....
If you throw it high and far enough it doesn't take a lot of time to throw the ball. All that is required is that the QB and the WR know where the ball will be. PW was/is a very good high jumper and will catch most of the 50-50 balls.
