Daughter and her "friend" yesterday
Morning. Red skies when the dawn broke, we know what that means!
I always hear my grandmother's voice: Red sky at morning, sailor's warning. Red sky at night, sailor's delight.Red skies in the morning, sailors fair warning
Red skies at night, sailor's delight
??
That's hilarious! My grandmother has always talked so fast, it's hilarious to have a conversation with her. And not everyone can understand her. Some of us have to translate for the others. We call it Aganese (her name is Agnes.) She also had a saying for everything!!
10 or so years ago, at one of her birthday lunches (we probably had about 20 people there) we were done eating and my uncle (that still lives at home taking care of her - GOD LOVE HIM!!!) said, "Did you get enough to eat?" And she said......
Grandma: I had sufficient.
Me: You went fishin'?
Grandma: I had plenty.
Me: You caught 20??
Grandma: Poor old soul.
Me: And you lost you pole.
She and I looked at each other and both busted out laughing. Nobody else at the table had a clue what was going on, and to this day I don't know how I remembered that saying. lol
Grandma had two sisters. They didn't always get along when they were little. That's hilarious!
My grandmother was a Mississippi country girl born in 1897, and she never swore in her life. The closest she would ever come was to say, "Well, I swan!" And she had to be pretty riled up or astounded to say that!
Dang.So sick of all this rain. Most of the front 9 of my home course is basically under water today. View attachment 260612View attachment 260613
