One of my good friends for 40 years is Jewish (reformed temple, Nashville). He uses the term, "Hebe" among those with whom he's most comfortable, including goyim.

I know, sad news, especially seeing his daughter was with him.

It is sad news and I probably have the unpopular opinion about this, but to me, KB dying in this accident is no different than any of the other lives lost in that crash. I couldn't tell you anything about him other than he was a basketball player. KB is obviously well known, but all the other people in that helicopter was a somebody too.

It isn't different as far as being tragic. It's different because of the collective grief.
