I said all along that on the surface, the leap in graphics next gen won't seem as quantum as it was from this generation. However if you know what to look for you CAN see where advances are being made.
1.) Particle effects: I've noticed a ton more particle effects in games that have been shown for next gen compared to last gen.
2.) Facial animations & expression. Just look at games like Watchdogs, Infamous Second Son, the Dark Sorcerer tech demo from Quantic Dream, etc. Characters now have a level of expression that weren't there current gen.
3.) Cleaner lines & edges. With the boost in ram, characters and environments will be less jaggy and appear more smooth and "CG" like.
4.) Larger scale: World will have the potential to be MUCH larger than before. I read somewhere that in The Witcher 3, just one location is larger than all of Skyrim and that game has several locations!
5.) More dynamic lighting and contrast.
There are more things I could list but you get the idea.
