Walk ons get treated very badly with Dooley. Great job by this kid!! Congrats!

And what evidence do you have to back up the fact that he treats them worse than any other coach? There is nothing to suggest that, in fact he has shown that he will give them a chance (i.e. toney)

I know players on the team. Walk on's go to the back of the line and are very lucky if the coaches ever talk to them.

Take him seriously in the unlikely event that he puts up back to back 100 yard games this fall.

Spring scrimmages are littered with unknown heroes that never do anything again. It's just the nature of the beast. Maybe starters chill a bit, and the walk-on's do their best to prove themselves. But when game time rolls around, the real talent shows itself.

That's funny. Most of the vets on the team notice the difference and have commented on it.

And at most these vets have played for one other coach, not near enough sample size to show that Dooley treats them worse than other coaches at Division I programs. Walkons get treated like ****, that is just coaches have 85 scholarship players and are only allowed 9 coaches giving them a ratio of 1 coach:9.5 scholarship players. Coaches are already spread pretty thin and are paid to win, therefore they are going to focus on the players that will help them do so. How do you think Saban treats walkons?

Its sad, and sad that you're defending it, Why have them then? Most of these kids are 18/19 years old, paying their own way through school, attending summer school to try and get noticed in the summer.......It costs them a fortune and they bust their ***** to show up and get treated like ****. Speaks well to the character of our coaches. Here's a question for you. Out of those 85 scholarship players, how many give their all or bust their ***** to earn what they have been given??

This. Alot of people can have big days vs the Teagues of the world, we need Bonner to come in and be as advertised. Also looking more likely that we will need CP to come in and be as advertised. I was hoping Dallas would really step it up this spring and could be that third wide reciever while patterson adjusts, but he has seemed to be rather quiet.

Is it a given that Patterson will be eligible, or does he still have work to do to be able to be eligible?

I know for a fact that walkons under Dooley who have performed well in practice on scout team are still not allowed to dress for home games. They bust their arse in practice and get nothing from this coach. Previous post was correct, scholarship players notice it and don't like it at all. Somebody will no doubt chime in about how Dooley treated the walkons for the bowl game in Nashville... pathetic.

Didn't a walk on back get a bunch of carries last year? Also, wasn't Shane Reveiz a walk on. He played special teams.
