Out coached.

And how would you know? You've seen our extensive use of it this year? Or you saw it not work against 9 in the box for the Razorbacks with McFadden? Or the Dolphins last year with no receiving threats after an 0-2 start? And the point remains that even if it was completely and utterly ineffective that is not some dismal result, but simply par for the course for our offense. If you remove the wildcat and Hardesty's one run we had zero first downs in the first 28 minutes of the first half. How can people not acknowledge these facts?

McFadden is the best running back not named Peterson the country has seen in a good while. He had good help in Hillis and Felix Jones, plus a top notch OL. Nuke is about 5'6 and running behind a patchwork OL.

It's not unstoppable. Teams with a capable quarterback and solid receivers can move the ball more effectively. It is simply a solid tool at the disposal of teams who have no other way of manufacturing offense. We fit that bill. Why would you rather we continue on this path that clearly isn't working rather than attempt to do something to inject some life into our offense. It is a gimmick, but it is a gimmick that let the dolphins win their division last year and it's a gimmick that could allow the last few games of Eric Berry and Monterio Hardesty's career have some meaning rather than be a replay of last year.

Yeah, Chad pennington had nothing to do with Miami's success last year.

Who's next? I will admit, I have one leg off the train. I'm not impressed. I've never in my life seen a coach so stubborn and full of himself. I just don't get it.

I will say this, he is losing the fan base fast. REAL FAST

5 games and your ready to jump ship?????
Leave now, don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out.
That team is working so hard to win and they just cant break through and you wanna quit on them????
As a Vol fan i'm ashamed of you.:realmad:

Jesus H Christ. I don't even like the wildcat. I'd prefer a normal offense. But how can people want to go through the same BS we went through last year? We have to do SOMETHING. Crompton has had 11 starts now and it is obvious he is not accurate or heady enough to be an effective starter in this league. Stevens is clearly worse or he would be starting. So the onus is on the coaches to do something other than run straight drop backs and runs out of the I formation to somehow get the defense some rest. If you cannot at least acknowledge that as an irrefutable point then I do not know what to tell you.

The ignorance of our fanbase is on full display in this thread.

:salute:

I didn't know the state of Tennessee had so many coaches that post on volnation....this is some of the most ridiculous stuff i have read...

Everyone that jumps off board now should not be allowed back on in a couple years.

^^^^^This^^^^^

Again, I think you guys either don't know as much as you think you do about football. Alternatively, I don't think that you are paying proper attention.

He may lose the fanbase in the short term, but they will show up when the wins come. It does not shock me given the nature of most fans and the state of the current economy.

I'll just go ahead and push you off for good.

How is wanting the coaching staff to adjust to the current roster jumping off board? I think Kiffin calls a good game and recruits well. I think if he gets an NFL caliber passer we'll be fine in the future. I just do not understand why we have to accept an offense where Jon Crompton is the focal point for the next seven games? Our seniors deserve better. If he is our best quarterback then it would behoove the hell out of our staff to de-emphasize the quarterback position, would it not?

again, you can only go so far with a one dimensional offense. urban meyer and nick saban would struggle with crompton under center.

I am not a coach, but tell me why with a little over 5 minutes left and you are down by 10, you would not go for it on 4th and goal?
You have just completed a 4th down conversion earlier in the drive. You need two scores, why settle for the field goal. If you go for the touchdown and get it, that pumps up your defense to stop them. Auburn was getting the ball after the score anyway. If you hold them, then you only need to get in field goal range.

No they wouldn't. They would have benched him a long time ago. Problem is, you hurt your chances of bringing in a top qb recruit if that recruit doubts his chances of starting as a freshman with a starter with eligibility left.

If you go for it and fail, it's game over. Since you need a td and a fg, go ahead and kick it and keep the hope alive.

Uh....because if you fail to score to get within one score you can basically kiss the game goodbye right there. There's not one coach in America that would've gone for the TD there at 23-13, give me a break.

Are you serious? You need a TD and a FG, might as well take the 3 points when you can instead of risking your entire chance of winning/tying on one play.

I blame the players somewhat on this one. I thought the coaches put them in good position all night. Receivers have to catch balls and players have got to make tackles. McCoy has got to step up as a senior in games like this. I think we played well enough on D to win. An offense like Auburn's puts a lot of pressure on a defense. We also look terrible on STs coverage. The players didn't play as well as they could have. I feel like our passing game is one of the worst I've ever seen. When the QB is off he's off. When the QB is on the WRs are off. We've got to get Nuke more touches. Auburn found creative ways to get they're freshmen the ball in space. We've got to do the same with Nuke and Teague. Jones, Moore, and Hancock have proven nothing to me. And I would sit them. D.Moore has been such a disappointment this year. I'm just so in shock right now. I think we're better than our record but we choose what half of a game we want to play. Florida we chose to play the first half. This game we chose to play the fourth quarter. We've got to play a complete game as a team.

Ya, since that's what I said.

kiffin hasn't benched crompton because he's got goober #2 behind him practicing with the 2nd string. there isn't a good qb on the roster. any coach would struggle with the dilemma we have at qb

It doesn't matter now. But does common sense not have a place in football?
I don't expect a miracle. I just want this team back to where it used to be. I have been a vols fan for thirty five years. Have never wanted off the ride and never will. I just get frustrated sometimes.

peerless you are a doucher, get over yourself, jump on the band wagon about how much you hate kiffin like everyone else. you loved him in December now you hate him, thats weird!!!!
