BOTH parties suck. 99.9% of politicians are crooks. Our two party system gets NOTHING done and aids only to divide our country. (Divide and rule- In politics, sociology and economics, a strategy to gain or maintain power.) How long are we going to ALLOW these ******** to ruin our country? Maybe its not just the politicians we need to change...

These folks (either party) are in it for one thing. POWER.

A lot of folks don't believe that. They think they actually care about them.

They all need to be hanged. Except Ron Paul and Gary Johnson. But is still have them on a short leash.

(Waiting now for guys in black suits and suv's to show up)

so who did you vote for in the last election?
I didnt vote for either dog turd on the menu. We have the illusion of choice. The same huge coorperations give money to both sides. They use fear, race, money, abortion, guns, marriage and religion to keep us occupied while they rape our country. Im not going to be a part of it. Our country is in trouble.

They just passed a new law. In exchange for our personal freedoms and Bill of Rights...we all get iPhones.

Yet you still have to pay taxes, abide by the laws of the land etc.

Unless you leave, then you'll have to do those things in your new country.

Unless you own your own island. In which case, you'll need to collect taxes and establish your own laws.

Next time use your vote. Even if you throw it away at a 3rd party, use it. And if you haven't attended a school board meeting, city counsel meeting, etc, recently, then shame on you.

The reason 99% of people get involved in politics, at any level, is personal gain. If you have not figured that out yet, you are naive to the world we live in...

you're not going to be a part of it? How's that going to work?

You also realize there were more than just 2 options in the last election right? Are you at least figuring out who is running in your local elections and voting in those?

if you aren't participating to change then you're just sitting around complaining until someone does the work for you. This country wouldn't exist if everyone thought that way

As a general rule you and I see eye to eye but on this I have to disagree.

Election was decided long before any one of us showed up to vote.

I voted to do my part. But I live in a red state. It literally did not make a difference. (Voted for mitt)

Yeah I get that and they want us to remain apathetic and uninvolved, otherwise we might start holding them accountable. They want us to quit and stay out of the process.

but sitting around complaining without taking action is pointless and dumb. Even local elections can make a huge difference is a person's life.

things like this is also why I donated and voted for a 3rd party. Wasn't going to do much this election but could have helped get a foot in the door for future ones.

First off, I respect your opinion, even if I dont agree. But, if you were not on the ballot in EVERY state, you had NO chance. Big buisness gets the two people THEY WANT to run in the general election, by funneling hundreds of millions of dollars into the campaigns of the two people (if you can call them that) they want. Then they spend millions to lobby politicians at the state level to keep the third party candidates OFF the ballots. Then to top it off, they throw in some fake politicians (Nader) to water down the votes. Recipe for "staged elections"- 2 crooked politicians. Keep real 3rd party candidates off the ballot in most states. Throw in some dirty politics for taste. When we have a real election then I will vote.

Gary Johnson was on 48 ballots. He was a legit option, offered many things that most Americans would be in favor of and people still didn't have the guts to pull the lever for him.

I agree the 2 major parties suck but to claim there is never an option is incorrect.

again, are you active on a local level?

A third party, one for sane people. Along with REAL campaign reform.

do you know how N Illinois made it into a BCS bowl when the rules were made to try and prevent it? Same has to happen to get a 3rd party involved. Meet the rules outlined and you're in

Another problem is gerrymandered districts. These promote ideologues getting into office, whose only real concern is fending off a challenge from within their own party. As long as they remain extreme -- even to the clear detriment of the country -- they keep the seat.

Yes. In my view we need to elect representatives based on current county lines, based on county populations.

No they want us to keep voting for their minions. They know 70% of the population are idiots (Rep's. and Dem's) and will vote for who the tv tells them is going to give them more money. It always boils down to greed. Sad.

You've bought into exactly what they want you to think. If you are a critical thinker and capable of independent thought, they want you to stay home. You stayed home. As long as you stay home they will continue to win. As long as you believe no third party candidate has a chance and then continue to act on that belief by not voting for one, then they will continue to win.

You are doing exactly what they want you to do.
