Our offense vs fla defense

I agree pounding the ball is our only option at this point. Unless of course the coaches feel throwing a short pass to Lucas Taylor and having him get everything he can with his athletic ability is effective. It's okay periodically but really.

I wanna see Jones get a kick or punt return touchdown.. we need something like that.

I agree that what you suggest is a strong way to win the game, but I think the last sentence is incorrect.

Spurrier's gators in the mid 90s were pretty finesse on offense...high octane passing attack with very little (or no?) I formation/jumbo package pounding of the rock...

I was a small child back then, so this may be selective memory talking, but I remember their passing game always just ripping us to shreds, not because they were more physical than us. I can remember we had them 4th and 18 or something at about midfield, and I thought "finally, we stopped them," because it always seemed like it was impossible to get their offense off the field. So they went for it and scored a TD on like a 50 yard pass from Wuerffel to Hilliard.

Anyway, I agree that since Spurrier has left (or maybe even the last few years he was there), that the more physical team wins the matchup. Whoever can run the ball and stop the run more effectively is in great shape to win the game. Special Teams almost always has a big impact on this game, and the Gators are one of the best in the country...we are not... James and Harvin are electric return men, their coverage and blocking units are exceptional...the good athletes on their team fight to be on the ST units...They want to go out there and make plays.

Their OL dominated the trenches and instead of controlling the game, they had PM trying to go pass for pass against UF.

The team that rushes for more yards has almost always won whoever the coach is.

I disagree. Milk the clock like an udder. Tebow and crew can't do damage on the sideline. 4 yards a play baby.

I'm exaggerating a little. Some big gainers would be nice, but if Tennessee can control the clock it would make things a lot easier.
absolutely.

At least Nick Stephens completed one over the middle in the 15 to 20 yard range and hit the reciever in stride also he scrambled better than JC in the UAB game. I would have JC on a short leash and competing for his starting job. I know that NS doesn't have alot of playing time but neither did JC before the start of the season.

I hope you are joking. If you think FL is going to kill us with JC it would be exponentially worse with NS in.

Here's the thing. The DL and Dave Clawson are the key to this game. I think our secondary can cover the Gators WR's. But unless we are able to get pressure on Tebow it ain't gonna matter. They also have to make sure that Rainey/Demps doesn't break a long run, which Miami did a good job of coverin them last game. The second thing is if Clawson decides to just run the football down their throats and don't put Crompton is a bad situation, we might be able to keep this thing close

The rosters have changed and the coaches to some degree have changed but the fundamentals are the same....the team that can control the line of scrimmage and move the football most effectively will win.....For Florida, it will mostly depend on Tebow....Harvin and his receivers aside, Tebow is the offense for Florida....Everything keys off of him....For Tennessee, running the football is key for us to win....I believe that Gerald Jones and Brandon Warren reveal themselves to the football world this weekend....I believe that our triumvirate of backs (Foster, Hardesty and Creer) also makes a hugh impact.....If Tebow throws the prayers he threw against Miami....Berry and Morley make him pay....I know that it is a longshot....but....Tennessee 35 Florida 24.....

Wierd that they might do this, but it does seem to me that there are parts and pieces to Clawson's game that we've not seen this fall. If true, and there is a total package to play with, results could improve. It's actually hard to go out there with only some of the scheme in play...

If we have not used all of it then JC has me even more worried. He has struggled with what we've ran. If we add more then what can you expect? The thought of adding a lot more to this offense right now scares the living hell out of me.

Anybody remember the 2000 gameplan? We had an inexperienced QB (AJ Suggs) and we spread them out and ran the ball mainly out of the shotgun. There were a lot of screens to Wilson and Parker that day too. I know we lost that game, but the gameplan that day was outstanding from a personel standpoint. We all know the outcome and how we lost which shows that this weekend it is important to be efficient in the red zone and get 6 rather than 3. I think we need to run a lot out of the shotgun and throwing formations and then utilize our TE's more so than we have since Jason Witten was here.
