Our offense vs fla defense

We still have to attack the middle of field. If JC cant get it done over the middle get someone else in there that can. Florida will be attacking the short sideline routes all day they will also be all over the WR screens and RB screens. We have to use play action and dump it over the middle to receivers and Warren (NOT STOCKER!! I am not getting on Stocker b/c of the drops its because Warren can be more of a playmaker when he gets the ball).

I understand that, and i love the thought of just running the ball 10 times a drive, but i just mean... throw a playaction deep, throw a little screen in. I'm not saying go shotgun and put it in crompton's hands, i'm just saying we can't be afraid to say "we have a play that can score right here, run a fly route and catch the football"

That would be nice if Tennessee had the QB/WRs to do that. It seems they've already tried that against UCLA.

Put Warren and Stocker in. I know stocker dropped passes, but UF will still have to cover him, and if they don't, there's 8+ yards.
Florida is fast, but we can still have mismatches.. I wanna see people breaking huge plays. I'd love to see a few runs, a short pass, then hardesty spinning out of a tackle and taking it to the house on the first drive.

I've seen Crompton do it before. LSU game a couple years back... two times. Granted, great plays by Meachem on both accounts, but still.

As far as trick plays go I'd like to see the direct snap to the tailback. Instead of the usual AF I'd like to see it go to the more speedy Creer or GJ.

The first drive thing got me thinking (I know, dangerous thing) but if we win the toss, take the ball or play d?

Creer ran hard... it was against a maybe 2nd string or worn down UAB defense, but he did what was asked.

If we run wildberry or GGun, we have to pass out of it at some point. Florida ain't stupid, they'll stop that formation from being a 30 yard run.

Also, Chavis can't be afraid to say "this is going to be a run right here... stop them"
Against UAB it was OBVIOUSSSS and he still seemed like he didn't wanna take that chance.

I think that might be a good choice. We could set a tone on D and might come out with better field position. The bad thing....UF special teams are a beast. We can't kick it in the endzone so they probably start around their 40 at best. But, who knows.

Yeah, but i want the ball to start the second half... no matter if we are winning or losing. If we are winning, we run the football. If we are losing, we (hopefully) make our adjustments and get down the field to start the 2nd half.

I disagree. Milk the clock like an udder. Tebow and crew can't do damage on the sideline. 4 yards a play baby.

I'm exaggerating a little. Some big gainers would be nice, but if Tennessee can control the clock it would make things a lot easier.

That's exactly how we've beaten UGA the last two years. Control the tempo and TOP.

Against Georgia last year we threw a reverse pass with lucas taylor for a touchdown when we already had the lead, and the year before we scored 51 points... that isn't seeming like 4 yards a play ((not ripping you, just saying))

Controlling the tempo is key, but if we see a big play, hit it... is all i'm saying

Stan Drayton

What affect will Stan Drayton have on our gameplan Defensively?

Do any of you think that he could help Chavis with tendencies and the like against the Gators. They seem to run the same formations they did last year.

It could be done but if you're pounding the ball for 4-5 yards you should not stop until proven otherwise IMO. Crompton has looked decent at best. A strong running game is a decent QB's best friend.

Tee Martin said the reason they won in 1998 is because they quit being cute with the ball and pounded it straight at them.

2001 Stephens had Florida DBs getting the hell out of his way.

The team that is most physical wins this game. Always have, always will.

That play you speak of made its debut against UF in 2006.

I completely agree that we make them stop us... which is why they ran Tebow on 4th and 1 over and over again at every team they played.

If hardesty and foster are running downhill and spinning off tackles, turn around and hand the ball off, but later in the game... use how badly they need to stop it against them and put the game away with a playaction bomb.

There is the chocolate candy center in the middle of the tootsie pop.

Consistent and physical. Good things happen.

If we are up say... 17-7 or 20-10 or so, and we are pounding the ball, i'd love to see us go for the jugular as long as it doesn't get screwed up...

Yes. I'll talk playcalling that takes football back to the stone ages as long as you control the line of scrimmage. Run, run, run, run, run, run, run and run some more. Demoralize the opponent.

Funny how over the last two seasons it was the running game we were worried about going into UF. Now it's the passing. God I hope JC gets it going and stops leaning back before every snap.
