Hurd had more yards his freshman season than Coker did his entire career at UT.
If Jalen rushes for 70 yards tomorrow he beats Riggs best season at UT with 1108 yards. Behind a weaker offensive line and a game left to play. Riggs also only had 123 receiving yards in his entire career at UT. Jalens already had more than that this season.
Now I did love Hardesty and if he wasn't so injury prone he could have been a beast, but in reality he only had one good season here.
Jalens on pace to be UT's all time leading rusher at the end of his Junior season, and he has a halfway decent Oline coming back next year. Think about that for a second. Not to mention, we have the second best rushing team in the SEC. So PLEASE shut up already.
Coker got involved with drugs, he would have been great so that point is invalid. And Riggs was a better running back than Hurd. Don't ever tell me to shut up.
B/c it's about staying ahead of the chains in this offense since the threat of pass is low. Hurd gets the 2 or 3 tough yards even when hit behind the LOS. For Kamara, those are no-gains or losses. A lot of his yards also have come against the worst opponents. My problem is when he does enter the game against better opponents, they run him right up the middle into the strength of the D when his strengths play to the outside. For that, I have no answer. He should still get more touches though whether that's on the speed sweep or plays directed outside like the option we saw last week.
