Our backfield "timeshare"

I don't think it should be 50-50 because Kamara doesn't wear down a defense like Hurd does, but I have said that he should get a few more touches myself, because he is definitely our most explosive skill player. He gets about 8-10 a game as it is, but I would up it to around 12-14 while keeping Hurd around 20-25 typically. And unlike some people here, I'm not looking for an excuse to bash the coaches on anything and everything, just stating how I would do it if I were in a position to decide stuff like this.

I'd take Hardesty, Coker, and Riggs over Hurd.

All 3 of those guys had better o-lines and weren't running out of the spread from the shotgun formation. Hurd would be the undisputed Heisman candidate and winner if he had that kind of help. Most of his gains are due entirely to him, not our O-line.

Hurd is a nice back but so overrated by this board.

Jalen will be collecting paychecks in the NFL in the near future. A fanbase tends to get excited about players that are really good like Jalen. IMO he is the best back we have had physically and talent wise since Travis Henry. Why do you think he is overrated?

Hurd doesn't have the speed, fluidity, agility, to win a Heisman. Oline has nothing to do with what I think of Hurd.

Any running back with a pulse can get a paycheck in the NFL. I like Hurd.

Laughable. Coker did not do squat in the NFL. If Riggs was so great why did he not make it in the league? Hardesty was good but could not stay healthy. Jalen has shown he can ball behind bad to average o lines.

Coker had issues with marijuana. If he had his head on straight and didn't throw his life away with that stupid drug than he would have been special.

Don't get me wrong here, I love Hurd, but I think Kamara is way underutilized in our run game. Just because he's smaller than Hurd doesn't mean he's a scat-back, and just because Hurd is fast for a big guy doesn't mean he's a speed back.

Hurd - Attempts: 234 Yards: 1038 Average: 4.4 Long: 35 TD: 10
Kamara - Attempts: 80 Yards: 546 Average: 6.8 Long: 63 TD: 6

How is it not clear it needs to be more of a 50/50 timeshare? It's unbelievable to me that Kamara only has 80 attempts! Yes, a lot of the time Kamara isn't getting the rushing attempts because he's catching the ball, but rushing wise, 234 to 80 seems a tad bit lopsided to me, especially considering how much the stats favor Kamara.

I agree,Kamara is vastly underused. Last week when they ran Hurd 8-10 straight times to close out the game wwa a horrible coaching decision. It was obvious Hurd needed a breather and of course he fumbles the ball after being overused at the end. Was absolutely no excuse for him not getting a breather and giving Kamara a few of those touch's. I love Hurd but Kamara has the speed to get outside and Hurd doesn't. That is my only complaint with Jalen,he tries to bounce it outside too much instead of use his size and go North and South.

Hurd gets more 3 yard carries out of nothing than any back I've ever seen.

I agree. I think sometimes we don't realize how good he actually is. He'll be the most missed player we've had in a long time imo.

Same can be said for Tony Robinson, Reggie Cobb, Onterrio Smith, James Banks and plenty of others. Part of the deal though is that you have to actually be on the field to matter.
