OU Sports: Thank you, Knoxville, for an unforgettable time

My thoughts exactly. As I read this my stomach turned. I can't say I enjoyed the weekend the same way that they did. Hell, I haven't even been able to look at anything UT related and not have my stomach turn. I wish we could feel the same way about that weekend as they do.

Dude, it's a football game. I am as passionate as anyone about UT football, but at the end of the game get on with your life.

I love the UT football experience on game day, everything about it but.....I want the opponents to come to Neyland with fear in their hearts and minds and leave with their tail between their legs.

Just my opinion but that's another reason to keep the "checkerboard crowd" for big games.

I have talked to multiple people about the fact you guys don't checker Neyland every game and how you should. It looks so much better than the average striping that other teams do. It could be as much a part of Tennessee game day as Rocky Top or running through the 'T' in my opinion. I know there are plenty on this board that disagree, but it looks fantastic.

Not trying to start a war between you lot with this. I just mean to compliment.

We're just here to help Oklahoma and it's fanbase have a much more enjoyable football season than ours.

Your ability to be an a$$ has no effect on a football game in Neyland Stadium. As a fan, you can only effect the game if you join the other 100,000 fans in making noise to encourage the Vols to play harder and to make it hard for the other team to hear their signals.

Other than that, screaming obscenities, throwing things, and being disrespectful to visitors does not effect the game and really does nothing but prove that you are an A$$.

Enjoy the game, cheer for your team and act like your parents raised you right. If you can't do that, I'd just assume you would stay at home because you embarrass the entire Vol Nation with stupid behavior!

The author in the OP surely meant well, but I wish to inform him that comparing us to bammers sticks in my craw. I don't have anything particularly bad to say about the behavior of bammer fans on game day. It's just the principle of the thing. The idea that we are like bammers goes against me, in an unsettling and disturbing way. It cannot be so. Your observations are flawed, sir, gravely flawed!

There are plenty of Tennessee fans who are content with going to Knoxville, tailgating, going to the game, and heading home. A win is fun and a loss is no big deal. I envy those people sometimes.

Well I sit at home but the new HDTV was so realistic I could actually feel the team come through the screen to rip my soul out. I feel you though it ruins the whole weekend, I go into a depression like a pet died or something. It's ridiculous how upset I get over this team but whatever.

I think you're taking what he wrote way too seriously.

Most of us fans want other fans to enjoy their experience in Knoxville outside of going home after a loss. We don't want to be Aholes or anything of the sort but we want our team to win. Being hospitable though should happen to most fans that are at least civilized.

DC, not meant to aim this at him. But, there are a lot of young people who apparently think it's their duty to mistreat anyone who is rooting for the other team. Not sure how they think that gives the Vols a better chance of winning.

Now, get off my lawn!!:)

Oh my bad I misinterpreted. :hi:

Kids and bandwagon fans generally don't understand how to conduct themselves. For the most part, most of our fans I sit by at the stadium when I make it up for one or two games seem to behave themselves pretty well.
