OT Playcalling (merged)

What I think your simple mind cannot comprehend is they’re questioning calls made at certain times due to the situation….. not for the whole game… get back to playing with your Lite Brite and stfu
It’s pretty obvious what you’re trying to get across here bub.. but what you don’t understand is the guy making the calls just broke uts record for points in a year. The same guy had 45 points tonight probably should’ve been 60 if not for hooker missing some plays.. you need to get the #### out of here acting like you know better then the coach and stick to blowing your bf.😂😂
Another nick saban from his coach.

You still can’t understand, but I’m probably expecting too much out of a water head.

Yea sir, exactly right. We can claim all we want about the refs and they sucked but Heupel shot us in the head with some of those lame brain end of game calls. Still OK with the season considering but CJH made some mistakes that cost us

Hooker missed 2 wide open receivers on separate plays that would have won the game. Playcalling wasn’t the biggest issue.

His forward progress was never stopped! He kept fighting! If football is gonna be like this (and I love the game) why watch it?
We want truth not lies. This is sick and disgusting to the team, coaches and fans.
Ridiculous!!!

By the way, how can Purdue feel like a winner of this game with a call like that??
Sheesh!
I hope this is fuel for our team, but we still have to put up with these inept refs in the future unless someone cracks down on fiascos such as these!

Huepel is terrible when it comes to short yardage play calling.
There’s more to converting short yardage plays than simply making the right calls. Our OL blows. We didn’t convert on the 4th & goal because #21 (lined up as a FB) didn’t block anyone and our RB got hit behind the LOS. Most of our failed short yardage plays this year are the result of our OL getting whipped.

Why not kick the FG in overtime? Like to hear his justification.

Lack of trust in our defense. Defense was gassed based on the last 5 minutes of play in regulation. Not a lot of talent available on defense IMO. Purdue’s defense was also gassed and had just gotten off the field.

If we had kicked a FG, then
there is about a 5% chance Purdue would have messed up or missed FG and we win after first OT series.
there was about a 45% chance they kick a FG to tie the game and then our chances are 50-50.
there was about a 50% chance they would score a touchdown and win anyway.

I guess he wanted our offense to control our destiny instead of trusting the defense to control our destiny. At least that is what I think his thought process was.

Cannot take a sack on first and goal from the 3. Hooker got to run or throw it away!!! I would have run it 4 straight times if I had to.

..... and you don't run the ball? Get sacked for a 7 yard loss? Really?? Just dumb play calling.
Your wrong this is what we have wanted cjh was playing to win ..he knew Purdue had done nothing in red zone all night ...no more of this coaching not to lose.

NOT, IN OT YOU GET POINTS, EVEN IF IT'S JUST 3 IT'S BETTER THAN 0,,,,,,if you have a good OL yes but that's not what we have, if you have a good power back yes, but we don't have one
Yeah not getting 3pts took all the pressure off Purdue, they knew 3 was all it took to win. At worst they go to another OT
I felt like the only good thing the D last night was step up when Purdue was in the Red Zone.
