When I was a Freshman in college I took a US History class. I remember the professor teaching us "Organize or Perish" basically meaning that people with a common interest throughout history had to organize and make thier voice heard or their well being, theology, ways of life, agendas, etc. would be in jeopardy.
This brought about interest groups (NAACP, NRA, and on a smaller scale hunting groups, car clubs, ect.)
The Volnation is much like a special interest group. Organized by one interest, which is the enjoyment of Tennessee athletics.
What I'm trying to get at in all of this is if the fans truly want Fulmer gone why hasn't there been a big enough effort to organize and make a statement. I'm not a Fulmer fan by no means, but it seems like the voice is getting louder and louder and if you want to ensure the "well-being" of the program you should organize and do something.
....or maybe I have it wrong, maybe getting on a message board and complianing is enough of an organized effort to do something about the situation. I'm also well aware of the "Don't show up at the game" efforts and also the "hit them in the checkbooks" ways of thinking. I also haven't seen much of that in here this week which leads me to belive that people are starting to just not care.
Therefore some questions:
Do you think posting on the message board actually does something about anything?
What kind of organized effort would really let Hamilton know that the fans are fed up?
Do you see an organized effort currently going on or in the works?
Who would lead the pro and anti efforts be that locally or nationally?
