#OregonUnderAttack

Well, sounds like this could still get a little ugly. One of the militia nutjobs is requesting backups to the refuge and is telling people to kill any law enforcement members that try to block them.

Exactly what LEO wants, falling into their hands.

People defending the reckless, dangerous actions of these militia loons must be getting a little desperate to try to come up with ways to make it okay. They are breaking the law, intentionally, they are threatening people left and right, and they are urging others to do the same.

No probation. They need to go to prison.

If they make it to prison, I'll be surprised. I think they're hoping for a shootout. The Bundy that was arrested yesterday has called for peace and for those at the refuge to leave. There seems to be different factions, and clearly some are more dangerous than others. I'm guessing some of those remaining are more of the Timothy McVeigh type.

The government should have stepped in as soon as this started and ended it. These people nor any other group should be allowed to take over a federal facility.

Should have came in guns a blazing and set an example, right? Show the subjects that this behavior will not be tolerated.

The subjects that took over the federal building were armed. Yes, the government should have given these red neck terrorist a chance to surrender, if they refused to surrender they should have been removed via force. This type of behavior should not be allowed.

Saying "federal building" is giving that structure a lot more grace than it deserves. Good grief, the way the media and others have acted, you would have thought it was the Pentagon they took over.

It is a seasonal facility that houses firefighters during the wildfire months.

It is still a federal building.

A group arming themselves and hijacking a building is not a way we protest things in the USA. There is a right way and a wrong way to make a point. This group thought they were above the law and could simply walk into a facility armed, take it over and claim it to be a preceful act. I have zero sympathy for this group or any other like them. IMO, they are homegrown terrorist thugs. Every person that was involved in this act should be arrested.

Who did they terrorize? Up until now, it's been pretty darn peaceful.

It's a seasonal facility. Don't try to be angry over the fact they "stormed" an unoccupied building. And hijacked? Really? Perhaps you should consider your choice of inflammatory words:

Hijacked - definition of hijacked by The Free Dictionary

Props to you for using terms that invoke deep set emotions within a reader base. "Terrorism, hijack and federal facility." Right out of the left wing playbook to incite fear in a host population.

Peaceful? Stage a sit in without the guns. There would be a lot more sympathy. Moving into the building and then spouting violent rhetoric is where the problem lies with calling them peaceful. You take up arms, you run the risk of being handled with deadly force.

Still avoided the question.

Exactly who were they terrorizing?

Having guns isn't a form of violence. And up until now, I haven't seen them call for killing anyone (which again seems to be a different faction). It appears different members of these "militias" have very different agendas, and now the bad apples are going to make an appearance.

What happens if the 'law' becomes above the law? Personally, I have genuine concerns about the over-step our various levels of government, their disdain for our individual liberties, and most especially, the growing lack of due process involved in their oversteps.

(Note what should be a troubling usage of terms above in regard to the govt:"their" and "our". Of the people. For the people.)

I don't like calling it terrorism and have avoided that term. I view more as a demonstration. My point was this takeover has violent undertones. When your armed and state from the beginning that you are willing to kill or be killed, it takes it out of the realm of a peaceful protest.

If you guys thinks this type of behavior by this group should be acceptable in America, I fell sorry for you. We don't allow thugs to arm themselves, take over a facility and make demands. If this were not a right wing group you guys would not be supporting them. These guys are criminals and should be locked up.

Having guns in and of it self is not violent, but it certainly ratchets up the pressure and when combined with violent rhetoric it is anything but a peaceful protest.

I talked to Ryan Bundy on the phone again. He said they're willing to kill and be killed if necessary. - Ian Kullgren

Agreed.

We should sign petitions.

Study history. America IS America because of this type of behavior.

It seems we allow thugs to take over entire communities, loot, pillage and burn, while calling authorities back to watch it happen, but we'll kill those who are more or less peaceably standing up to an overstepping gov't, in the name of individual liberties.

Deserves the death penalty right? Hell, the legitimacy of the federal government was at stake, couldn't just ignore these yahoos until they got tired of no one paying any attention to them.

Armed or not radical rhetoric or not, it was peaceful since they were not hurting anyone or disrupting normal activities.

It shouldn't be acceptable but it shouldn't be a death sentence either. Wait them out then arrest them when they disperse.

The legitimacy of the Federal Gov't does not depend on the actions of men; it depends on the actions of the gov't.

(I saw your intent and posted in agreement. But it was a great opportunity to make a point. :) )

If I came and stood on the sidewalk in front of your house with gun and yelled, "Hog, If you come out I am going to kill you." Would you consider me peaceful?
