I’m in an antique store that’s common in small towns like these

I came across a brass bulldog that has the Chattanooga foundry mark on it

Interesting history. At the time casters were paid by the item.

This one was made sometime in 1948.

I know this because my grandfather worked there in 1948 for about a year

And it has his mark on it.

It’s rare to find Chattanooga foundry items.
I’ve never seen one made by my grandfather other than the items handed down

when I was a kid my grandparents had several things he had made in the foundry. I have most of them. The bulldog he had disappeared when he passed. We figured stolen by a caretaker. When I got back home and mom was able to look it over….she has convinced me and I believe this is our missing bulldog
