Orange and White Game - Official Thread

I DID! It was worth it though....

Yeah it was.

I'm headed down to Calhoun's for dinner if anyone wants to stop by and discuss. I'm wearing an orange adidas polo, should make it easy to spot me

but seriously, I'll be on the porch if there's a seat.

My impression of QB's from what I saw in section H:

Stephens sucked. He couldn't complete a pass to save his life and looked like he wasn't even attempting to hustle most of the time.

Crompton started off strong, but had some serious accuracy issues towards the end of the game.

Coleman looked quite good, but he didn't touch the ball as much as I thought he should have.

Out of the three, I'd say Stephens is out as a potential starter. IMO the job goes to BJ right now.

I agree. Crompton made some very strong throws, but the consistency still isn't there. He did look better than last year though.... I think we've got a lot to look forward to this upcoming season; it was nice to see a little offense for a change. Did anyone else get a glimpse of Denarius Moore's catch in the first half?? That was awesome.

Here are my random thoughts from the game:

4.4 yards per carry teamwise is a good average.

The linebackers made a lot of tackles, They looked good, especially Rico McCoy.

Might the defense have won IF CMK would've have been allowed to run his variety of blitz and pressure packages?

Statistically Coleman should be the number one over Crompton.

Quinton Hancock is the man! What in the Sam Hill was Fulmer and Co. thinking?

51400 fans is the second most ever at an O&W game and the most in 23 years! That was fantastic support!

It's going to be a loooooooooooooooong four and a half months.:cray:

-For those wondering, Jones played the majority of the game. He was in on special teams as well, they just didn't punt to him.
-I think it's completely wrong that we have a punter on the roster with the #47, but is not a Colquitt.
-While Crompton looked slightly worse than Coleman, Crompton was going against a top 5 defense while Coleman was up against the backups.
-Hancock was in with all 3 teams at different points in the game. There are reasons he was getting so many plays. For example, Jones was only with the starters, so he had fewer opportunities. Same thing happened for Brandon Warren.
-Brandon Warren had the #1 jersey again, but I don't know if he earned it or if it was for identification purposes. If it was for the latter, his performance on the field today earned it back.
-Luke Stocker still blows.
-The miss by Lincoln was literally inches. It was that close to hitting the upright.
-Hopefully something was going down on special teams. I'd like to believe our returns were vanilla. I'd also like to believe that our coverage is that much better. But my gut says that it will be many starts from our own 20 next year...
-Chris Walker is ready to be a beast for the season. This marks the 2nd Brothers' Boy to breakout this spring (Along with Blake Forsythe on the Baseball team).

I met two posters today... rbroyles at Calhouns and Bdarnell at the game. Me and Matts42012volfan went to Calhouns but had noway of identifying you guys sorry we didnt stick around more than twenty min. rbroyles asked us if we were Volnation posters while walking to Calhouns, thats the only reason we met him. It was good to meet you rbroyles and Bdarnell!

I thought Poole looked very good, always moved forward and picked up a few nice runs including a couple of 3rd downs. The QB spot is iffy, they threw it alot and Coleman made the better decisions this day. Hancock was all over the field, and Warren had a few good catches. They played well in the watered down version, I didn't see very many mistakes.

crusse10... gimme a break about the whole punter/Colquitt-name/#47 BS, Britton never earned that number himself... the requirements for wearing that number should be that the player should be able to look at the ball and kick it.

The reason Britton was never worth a damn was the fact that he had to choose which of the three balls to kick (a drunk joke for those of you who don't get it)

(but seriously, a punter can't wear that number, gimme a break... the whole "i want this number" type of thing is retarded anyways)

how did the Int happen. Sounds like Crompton had to go up against tougher competition. Big difference throwing against the starters versus the back ups.

Same here bigtime, people you gotta go talk to someone instead of moaning about nobody is here. Some people didn't know what I was talking about, so heck I gave them a recruitment spiel that would make Freak proud, several said they would check it out.

thanks for the pictures guys!!

Dear Lane Kiffin,

Please, Please, Please remove those orange stripes off the side of our pants.

Sincerely,

A Vol Fan that wants to wash away all bad memories

I'm fine with someone wearing #47, but if it's a punter, I think it should be saved for that family. It just seems right to me.

#99 was Martin? ****. I thought he was 90.

Thats not good if he's gone though. I don't exactly think Williams or Bohannon are quite ready to start.

And I know what you mean about being sunburned. I'm pretty sure I've got 3rd degree burns all over my arms and face lol

B-52... thats gotta be the dumbest thing i've ever heard...

It just seemed...weird. I look on the field before the game and see 47, but know it isn't a Colquitt. Talk about being disappointed. We need Dustin back...

Oh, and everything else I said was 100% accurate

Warren has had his number back for a little while, Crusse.
