I know that a change needed to be made at UT. As Coach Fulmer said in his press conference everyone has been disappointed in the season. Today when it came down that he was officially stepping down, it has been a kind of sad day. This man has done alot for The University of Tennessee. I am 33 years old and the only coaches I remember are Fulmer and Majors. I was a teenager when Fulmer took over. To me, Coach Fulmer has been Tennessee Football!

Hated to see the man on the brink of crying during his press conference, I know that is part of it---we all know it is over.

At the same time, there is a little excitement on what will happen over the next few weeks. We are going to hear all kinds of names about who the next coach will be. I hope to see the program take a step back to greatness. I am a Tennessee fan, just like nearly all of us on here. I want to see the program win! Hopefully we can get the football coach right on the first try by Hamilton.

I hope CPF does stay here in some capacity. This man brought the University the only National Championship I have been around to see. I think he will be right there with Neyland in the history of Tennessee Football.

Coach Fulmer, I know you will never read this...I wish you the best and would love to see you stay at the University in some capacity!!

We may disagree...I liked the man as a coach!

Do I think something needed to change? Yes!

After picking Crompton to start against Vandy, I really don't wish him well at all. The sooner he leaves the better.

After Wyoming and now allowing Crompton to start...Fulmer lost me. Screw him.

Well he lost me before that, but now he's just being intentionally stupid and belligerent, before I think he was just blissfully ignorant. If he starts Crompton he deserves to be run out on rail.

I agree with the last 4 post. This crap with Crompton is just ignorant. He is only proving what everyone has said all along. His loyalty to upperclassmen regardless of their production on the field has cost him his job. Good riddance Fulmer. Can I help you pack your bags?

Glad to see him go. However Hammy made one serious mistake...He should have sent him home on the 3rd and appointed Chavis as the acting coach for the remainder of the season. Clemson fired Bowden and he did not return to the sidelines...Tubby fired Franklin and he is no longer near the football program....In business when one is terminated, they are asked to leave immediately. The university could still honor him if they wish but he needed to be relieved of his coaching duties on the 3rd. We might be winners instead of losers at least the last three games.....I will be there for KY but not to see Fulmer but to take my granddaughter to a UT game....

We will not be going to a bowl game.
We will be having another losing season.
Crompton is the worst starting QB at UT in my lifetime.
Crompton's smarmy comments about not playing for the fans....

Having Bj Coleman, apparently a model citizen, a great leader according to Eric Berry, having a whale of a game against Hargrave Military Academy and not starting him against Vandy in light of the comments above is beyond me. Fulmer can sit on it for all I care.

I personally do not want Fulmer to have any position where there is any possibility that he has any input into the operation of the football team.

I'm like you. I'm 21 and the only coach I can remember is CPF. He WAS great but needed to go. I'm excited for UT's future. I hope they get someone great because I'm planning on getting my MBA in Knoxville and I want to watch some quality football.

I second that. No way he should have anything to do with it for a long time. He has bitterness and it would be counter productive.

Regardless of how bad our season has been...I swear phil must be smoking crack for starting crompton. I think he's just laughing at us.

Its beyond a joke. I don't have words to describe it. I just want eight quarters of the worst trainwreck in tennessee history to hurry up and get over with.

Where does all that dough go? I suppose MBA Mike Hamilton signs off on this. I'd like to see the break-down.
