I won't speak for @bpalmer28 , but I'll generalize the sentiment I perceived from most of the regular FF members.

Most of the forum predicted a regression in 2023. A few drank the kool-aid after Milton's play in the 2022 Orange Bowl, believing that could be Miltons new form and predicted 10 wins, but they were a minority.

Most of the forum regulars predicted 9 or 10 wins for 2024 while split pretty evenly between just missing or just making the playoff. Virtually everyone was right but for the wrong reasons. The thought was the offense would return to form and carry us.

During 2022, most of us were cognizant that we'd caught lightning in a bottle with Hooker & the WRs, but still had to play 3 walk-on DBs during the Alabama game.

Elko walked into an absolutely stacked roster with one of the highest NIL budgets in the country

All he has to do is keep the players from falling over each other and they will win a bunch of games

Bit different than the situation Heupel walked into.

I have spent all week laughing at the Fahr Heupel crowd.

Ruining Vandy's once in a lifetime shot to go to the playoffs would just be so sassssswweweeeeeeeetttttttt that I cannot even fathom the happy feeling in my belly I kinda like being the bad guy sometimes

If we lose to Candy I may join the legion of over reactors

pretty much exactly how it’s turned out. we have one of the best programs in college football. on pace for another 10 win season

I understand your point, but the last paragraph tells me there are still meaningful achievements to be had. Beating Florida in the a swamp is rare, even when we have the better team. That would be an achievement.

And even though they’ve had a great year by their standards, a win over Vandy to remind everyone that they are still little sister — that would be worthwhile in my opinion.

If we finish 9-3, it is a good year. However, this team hasn't instilled confidence. Even Tennessee's wins look bad if you consider competition and how e perform against it.

Oh, if we lost to New Mexico you would lose your mind. Every game is important.

Can Joey come back next year? Based on my review of the Pavia ruling it's possible. That ruling would have even given Pavia the option to play next year, but he has said he won't. That is my understanding. Joey is in a very similar situation. If he is available, do we even want him? Our freshmen will move on if they can't play next year, so we will either go with one of them or the portal otherwise.

This team still has a shot at finishing the season with a 10-3 record after the bowl game. That would be 3 10 win seasons in the last 4 years.

What was Danny White thinking? Scheduling New Mexico State AND New Mexico !!! Is it a doubleheader for Tennessee or are the Aggie Lobos going to merge teams or is it going to be 11 vs 22 players? I am confused.

I’m all for Faizon being the man but we need to get a QB in portal. Another Joey, a solid one year guy while Faizon and Gmac continue to develop.
