And Wingate was still atrocious, especially in the decision making arena, on and off the court apparently.Wingate had 146% more blocked shots last year than Bradshaw. Wingate adds a big body for depth in the paint and a good defender when he wanted to be. No matter how good Bradshaw is, he is still 7 inches shorter and than Wingate.
Pearl plays a guard-centric game. We have yet to see any big man develop under his tutelage, so I don't really know. I'd like to think he would have helped anchor the defense better and rebounded somewhat better, but I can't see him making a tremendous contribution on this team with his skill set.I believe that Wingate would have improved under Pearl. It seemed like he was coming on strong in the NCAA tournament last year. Regardless of what you think about Major, he would have been a huge help this season. We don't have anyone on the team right now that has a center mentality.

I love how getting kicked off the team has turned Wingate into Patrick Ewing in some people's minds.
Think how good this team would have been if someone would have hidden Wingate's Bong from him.
well, he's limited talent wise, but the big rebound numbers come from effort and hustle 100% of the time. That's what we didn't get from Wingate but Pearl might have gotten a little more from him this year. Thats just speculation though and matters not.

you see, Im not sitting here saying he was Godly. Let's change what I said originally because aparently I wasn't clear. If we had another random nameless nearly 7 foot tall player with experience coming off the bench that could help defend and give the starting bigs some rest, we might have won a couple more SEC games. Sorry I mispoke so atrociously

that's right. Childress has developed into a force on the inside and Chism has been blowing people away in there by outhinking them and displaying his newly acquired Tim Duncan like fundamentals. Ditto for Crews.last time i checked ryan childress wasn't a guard and i would say he has developed under pearl's tutelage. anyone who argues otherwise didn't see childress last year. night and day. i would also say wayne chism has developed and will continue to.
