One question concerning last nights game..

No blood, no foul. I knew we were in trouble if the Zebras didn't blow the whistle. We don't have the size and muscle to play that type of ball.
You ain't lyin! It was like a basketball prostate exam in the final minutes, and Dr. Glen Davis was the attending physician.

Heh, thats's not too far from the truth. Two LSU players bled last night and LSU seemingly got the most calls...

Wingate had 146% more blocked shots last year than Bradshaw. Wingate adds a big body for depth in the paint and a good defender when he wanted to be. No matter how good Bradshaw is, he is still 7 inches shorter and than Wingate.

well, he's limited talent wise, but the big rebound numbers come from effort and hustle 100% of the time. That's what we didn't get from Wingate but Pearl might have gotten a little more from him this year. Thats just speculation though and matters not.

And Wingate was still atrocious, especially in the decision making arena, on and off the court apparently.

you see, Im not sitting here saying he was Godly. Let's change what I said originally because aparently I wasn't clear. If we had another random nameless nearly 7 foot tall player with experience coming off the bench that could help defend and give the starting bigs some rest, we might have won a couple more SEC games. Sorry I mispoke so atrociously

I believe that Wingate would have improved under Pearl. It seemed like he was coming on strong in the NCAA tournament last year. Regardless of what you think about Major, he would have been a huge help this season. We don't have anyone on the team right now that has a center mentality.

Pearl plays a guard-centric game. We have yet to see any big man develop under his tutelage, so I don't really know. I'd like to think he would have helped anchor the defense better and rebounded somewhat better, but I can't see him making a tremendous contribution on this team with his skill set.

Well, we are either going to witness a big man develop under his tutelage or we are going to continue to witness games like last night.

I'm hoping it's big man development and Chism is just that guy. Just haven't seen it yet so, for me, the verdict is out.

I wasn't even responding to you, but this comment confused me. What kind of response can you earn and what were you looking for?

I love how getting kicked off the team has turned Wingate into Patrick Ewing in some people's minds.

Think how good this team would have been if someone would have hidden Wingate's Bong from him.

I think some people on here have hit the Bong between now and when Wingate was kicked off the team. Wingate was mediocre at best last year.

I said this as part of a conversation about needing a big man

you said this....

And Wingate was still atrocious, especially in the decision making arena, on and off the court apparently.

when what would have been nicer to hear was....

It was two different responses to two different questions. You were making Wingate out to be better than he is.

I realize I used the wrong quote for the first part, but it doesn't matter. Just seemed like I got the brush off. Its alright I understand Im pretty new

I wasn't brushing anyone off. I responded with what came to mind, as I usually do.

Thicker skin will make this place far more enjoyable for you.

last time i checked ryan childress wasn't a guard and i would say he has developed under pearl's tutelage. anyone who argues otherwise didn't see childress last year. night and day. i would also say wayne chism has developed and will continue to.

that's right. Childress has developed into a force on the inside and Chism has been blowing people away in there by outhinking them and displaying his newly acquired Tim Duncan like fundamentals. Ditto for Crews.

Listen, I'm not saying he can't develop big men who can provide consistency to this team. I'm saying I have yet to see it. Childress hardly qualifies given that he provides any spark he might give from the 3 point line.
