I think Dooley is a good coach and a better guy. I like Wilcox and Chaney. I just think there was more stability when we had more Tennessee guys on the staff. I am glad Chuck Smith is on board. I would like to see guys like Dale Jones, Marion Hobby, T Martin and Kevin Steele on staff. They wouldn't look at their jobs as stepping stones.

? If Tee Martin wanted to eventually be a OC, and one day a HC, and none of those spots opened at UT, would you discourage him from going to NC State to take a promotion?
Or any of the other ex Vols that would be on the staff?
They probably wouldn't leave after one year. I know the jobs open up at this time, but we have a bowl game coming up and are in the middle of recruiting. We don't need this instability.
So you are saying it was just Fulmer that sucked. I guess his current coaching status, compared to his assistants who were able to find coaching jobs, bears you out. Glad to see we could finally agree on something.
Yeah, nobody ever wanted Trooper Taylor or Rodney Garner or Latrell Scott as a recruiter; nobody ever wanted Cutcliffe or Chief as a coordinator; and nobody wanted Mike Barry or Doug Marrone as an offensive position coach or Dan Brooks or Chief as a defensive position coach.
Welcome to Tennessee fandom -- if you stay here as a coach, you must suck.
No one will equal Fulmer's achievements at UT in the next decade or two or three. Just let me know when we have a five year span over the next decade that merely equals Fulmer's worst five year span in his time on the hill.
