Thanks glv, let's just say that Respect and I seem to have different sensibilities on matters of satire and parody. And that is what message boards for, clashes of sensibilities!!Pretty sure was mad was just joshing there. Spoofing the notion that talent isn't really what you need. Probably needed the blue font.
I think it's reasonable given that she may have felt she really got burned the first time around. Just very unfortunate for her that everything with her original recruitment fell through. Probably hasn't thought about other schools in a long time since she's been committed so wants to take her time and make sure. For someone who didn’t like the recruiting process, she certainly is milking it this go around. Not really a positive or negative post so much as an observation.
I wouldn’t consider her “being burned” she made the choice to step away. Rosters get up ended all the time no matter what school it is or how that school’s season ended. You either choose to follow thru with your commitments or you don’t. She could’ve stayed. & made her way on this team & been the biggest star with a solid supporting cast or go to an already made roster & ride their coattails. Upended?! That's kind of like saying the Titanic was upended by that iceberg. Obviously what happened to the school she committed to was much more serious then you're allowing. I probably would have advised my daughter to step away in the same circumstances.I wouldn’t consider her “being burned” she made the choice to step away. You can’t advise anyone of anything if you aren’t apprised of what legit happened there. Either the players left on their own for reasons we still don’t know or they were encouraged to go because ultimately they didn’t fit. Either way Texas made the E8 & still lost what like 4 important pcs of that roster? OKState, Iowa State, hell even Rick lost most of his team after this years success. You. Don’t. Know. What. Happened. Period.Upended?! That's kind of like saying the Titanic was upended by that iceberg. Obviously what happened to the school she committed to was much more serious then you're allowing. Or that John Wilkes Booth upended the performance at Ford's theater or that Lee Harvey Oswald upended the motorcade in Dallas.Upended?! But here's the thing, the fact that "no one knows what happened" probably makes a lot of potential recruits even more wary than if they did know exactly what happened. You can’t advise anyone of anything if you aren’t apprised of what legit happened there. If anything that happened this season was as toxic as some on this board seem to think, CKC wouldn’t still have a job. Maria stated she is apprised of what happened & it was not one thing & it was multifaceted. A lot of people on here aren’t fans of hers, including myself but she is in the know.
Also, no one knows what big O and her family know. If it was my child, I’d certainly make it my business to know exactly what happened in the program I was about to send her to. I’ll bet the Edwards family knows a lot more about what happened than most. But here's the thing, the fact that "no one knows what happened" probably makes a lot of potential recruits even more wary than if they did know exactly what happened.
You don’t think they’re being as transparent as they can while recruiting? Lol. Parents aren’t gonna just allow their kids to go into an environment they don’t feel safe in. In some of the interviews that have been done recently with Naomi, for instance, she stated that the staff answered all the questions they had. Aren’t we to assume that one of those questions is: why don’t you have a roster? LolBut here's the thing, the fact that "no one knows what happened" probably makes a lot of potential recruits even more wary than if they did know exactly what happened.
And I’m sure they do know. But it really could’ve come down to all the players I signed up to play with are gone so now I’m gonna go find somewhere else. That could’ve easily been an excuse as well. I hope we do find out what happened sooner rather than later and if it turns out to be something terrible then I’ll be glad to eat my words but until then all the possibilities have to be weighed. The world is so guilty before proven innocent these days. I choose to be the other way around. Until proven otherwise. Also, no one knows what big O and her family know. Totally agree if I was somehow unable to found out what really happened that would be a huge red flag. Anyone thinking of coming here, including everyone who’s committed, is owed the full story if they want it. And I cant imagine anyone not wanting it.
Yes, I’m sure “every person I signed up to play with left”played a huge role in her decision as it would for any sentient human being.Wouldn’t exactly call that an excuse. Anyone in their right mind would be frightened by that. And I’m sure they do know. I present you the question, if it all doom & gloom, & she was presented with the facts. Why did gabby stay? That tells me it wasn’t as horrific as we are led to believe by reading this board. If it was as bad as it could’ve been then dream school or not I wouldn’t think gabby or her parents would allow her to stay.Yes, I’m sure “every person I signed up to play with left”played a huge role in her decision as it would for any sentient human being.Wouldn’t exactly call that an excuse. Not sure we’ll ever find out exactly what went on, but I’m sure all perspective players were given adequate information to make their individual decision.
I don’t think it’s fair to speculate on what went into anyone’s decision, and certainly unfair to make out one person’s decision as good and noble, and the other as somehow less honorable. Really wish we wouldn’t go down the heroes and villains rabbit hole.I present you the question, if it all doom & gloom, & she was presented with the facts. Why did gabby stay? I'm sure the questions were asked, and answered during visits and interviews. But I'm not convinced that the answers provided would be totally accurate -- or completely convincing. Or that all of this took place with players who never chose to visit. You don’t think they’re being as transparent as they can while recruiting? Lol. A lot of this forum is made up by speculation, rumors and innuendos. Not a lot of facts and mostly opinions is what makes it run. I believe if it was as bad as many believe DW would not of had any choice but get rid of the head coach.I don’t think it’s fair to speculate on what went into anyone’s decision, and certainly unfair to make out one person’s decision as good and noble, and the other as somehow less honorable. You may be correct. But what we do know as factual is, that whatever the situation was, it was bad enough to lose every player on the roster, and the highest rated incoming recruit (#2 overall) since Jordan Horston.A lot of this forum is made up by speculation, rumors and innuendos.
