Pretty sure that’s why they’re kneeling...they see history repeating itself.
They aren’t protesting America.
They’re protesting during the national anthem to bring attention to pro-Confederate rallies on campus.
It’s up to Ole Miss to determine how to handle this going forward...should be interesting.
You have seen quotes from the players? You are making a point to not show respect during the anthem, to me, that is a sign you are protesting America.
They are protesting to bring attention to these rallies? Rallies that would go completely unnoticed if not for them protesting them?
Perhaps that’s the point...the players who chose to kneel didn’t want Confederate rallies on their campus to go unnoticed, hence the protest.
I respect the right of anyone to protest against something they feel strong about. That being said, I do t respect anyone disrespecting our nations flag. Get off your ass and do something about it. Raise awareness, hold a townhall meeting, voice your opinion...something. Dont disrespect our flag and the men and women who have fought, and continue to fight for our freedom. And for the record, I stand during the national anthem, but I also respect the rights of those who choose not to do so, even when it’s in opposition to my beliefs.
I am uncertain what is greater here, the hilarity or the stupidity. A bunch of guys that chose to go to Ole Miss(johnny reb, confederate flag, etc.) Choosing to kneel during the anthem(again combo of ignorance and hilarity) to bring attention to a group that wants attention.
