OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

They should’ve cut the guy loose 3-4 years ago, when everyone was gaga over him, and rebuilt the franchise with the returns.
But nooooo, they didn’t listen to ol’ CobbWebb, and now we’re paying the guy $90 million, to hold a clipboard for another team.

The Dolphins must be run by idiots. Aside from this Tua hit, they've got 28 guys in their dead money pool, led by Tyreek Hill, Jalen Ramsay and Minkah Fitzpatrick. Those 28 guys are costing the team $89mill in dead cap money

They are and after 40+ years, I’ve almost had enough.
I can handle losing but I can’t handle losing because of incompetency.
I may have to fully commit to the Falcons? They’ve always been my backup team.
Maybe the Panthers?
Texans?

As frustrating as it may be, pretty nearly the only thing to do on a waiting list is... to wait. But that's a pretty good (if not ideal) sign for her, I would think. It's pretty competitive, and she's in the mix. I hope she has some backup plans, on priniciple, not because I think she won't get in. That's always wise. Is she applying as a new undergraduate, a transfer, or grad student? I don't think regular (non-early decision) undergrad acceptances are announced until April 1. Is this your niece at Northeastern? Your niece that played high school soccer? If she doesn't make it this year, remind her she can reapply for next year, probably best as a transfer and not take a year off. I applied as a grad student, and things are a little different for us. I knew the exact faculty member I wanted to study with and had been to Tulane to meet her. And the same at most of the other schools I had applied too.

Has she heard of a letter of continued interest ? I think that’s what it’s called. It lets the school know that you are still interested in them

Also, do they have a second period of early decision? You have to be careful with that one, financially. You basically sign in blood that if they accept you, you will go there. You might not know your actual cost of tuition when you do early decision, however.
Guys, thank you so much for your input. Shared it with my sister and niece last night.

RBF's advice is better. He knows more. I like his idea of a visit. It would be arranged through... the admissions department (I think). In grad school our department was in its own little world.

Maybe this is a good luck sign! Wifey just texted me that a young woman we know was accepted today to Loyola New Orleans law school. She had been wait listed.
