Travel ball has its pros and cons. There can be a lot of politics involved but it does open you up to more exposure. My best position was always 1B but on teams like that you have to be flexible and willing to play multiple positions for everyone to get to play. So I played a lot of outfield and 3B whenever the other 1B wasn’t pitching. I didn’t play travel ball until the last two years of high school over the summer. The best part is getting to play games all over the southern region rather than just locally. Luckily the coach was rich and paid for all of us peasants that otherwise couldn’t afford it.I should’ve worded my post differently.
Travel ball obviously didn’t hurt him, he’s a hell of a player.
Travel ball likely changed the course of his position.
But I’m just rambling and this is possibly the dumbest take I’ve had in a while
Blame the regional sports networks. With MLB coming up, ESPN sent me an email (I'm sure everyone got one) saying to take advantage of a "special" deal to add MLB.TV for only $135 for the 2026 year.
I saw my cable bill yesterday that I get from Spectrum & I almost had a heart attack.
Their rate(s) keep going up. Mine went up another $25 for the month. This is like
a car payment each month now. I went to watch TV late one night & the screen kept
breaking (pixels) up into small bits & pieces to where you couldn't see the program.
Rant over. Carry on.![]()
