I’ve been trying to eat healthier too and doing protein shakes. Got back in the gym, on week 2 now. Already lost 3 pounds. The goal is to get back down to my weight from about 10 years ago and then maintain. I stayed around 180lbs but got up all the way up to 198lbs. So hopefully I can lose another 15 pounds over the next few months.I’ve been eating liketoo. I decided yesterday to start eating healthier so I’m day two.
Let’s start a weekly Dugout check-in to discuss if we are headed in the right direction or need encouragement. The only weight I can loose is if I get sick w/some kind of disease from the Congo.I’ve been trying to eat healthier too and doing protein shakes. Got back in the gym, on week 2 now. That is great, what kind of protein shakes do you get? I like the Premier Protein ones. How does one set up a weight room routine?I’ve been trying to eat healthier too and doing protein shakes. I use Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein, 24g of protein with each scoop, only 1g of sugar and 120 calories. You can mix with either water or milk for enhanced taste. I use a shaker bottle with 12-18oz of milk and 2 scoops of protein. Typically you are supposed to consume at least 1g of protein per your weight in pounds for optimal muscle growth. So I usually do 2 of those shakes per day for 98g of protein and then I can fill in the rest of the day with actual food that’s high in protein. That is great, what kind of protein shakes do you get? I have a membership to a gym but if you have an adjustable bench with a dumbbell set then that’s really all you need. I am using the intermediate workout on this page, sometimes I substitute other exercises, like if I don’t want to dips I will do a different chest exercise like flys. Personally, I prefer the push/pull method of working out so this routine breaks it up into that for me:That is great, what kind of protein shakes do you get? I like the Premier Protein ones. You need to post before & after pictures if you stay w/this workout. What say you?I have a membership to a gym but if you have an adjustable bench with a dumbbell set then that’s really all you need. TL;DNR. No offense. Now that I live away from the city, I'd read some things about the quality of soil, feed vs. grass, the whole Big Ag routine, and where the real nutrition is. Well, you can read anything that says everything today, so I gave it the ol' "does it work for me" test.
My first thought was, healthy food costs too much!
But what I experienced was that I get full and satisfied on much less food when it's full of nutrients, and I eat much less through the week. (And grass fed beef has so much more flavor!!!)
So I'm actually paying less eating farm fresh, free range chicken or duck eggs, grass fed beef, grass fed raw milk (it's like drinking ice cream!!!) and yogurt. Oh, and my baker uses all healthy flour--no chemicals in the field or at harvest, no bleaching, just whole grain, sourdough breads like what is still feeding Italians 2000 years since the Romans were thriving on bread from the same fields.
I've also tried carnivore (even though I enjoy fresh veggies this time of yea), and felt better very quickly.
All I can say is "Try it!" and see if you like what you're eating, how you're feeling, and what you're paying.
Plus, you'll meet some of the nicest folks and families around these farms and farmstores!
They're not like hanging out with vegetarians.
